There are Social Security Deductions, health insurance, savings plan, and other deductions, and then there are 2 different deductions marked FICA. One of the amounts is significantly larger than the other, and we have no state tax.
Can someone please explain so I don't look like a fool going to my employer?

people always say because Maryland is "near" DC/Baltimore, even though areas near DC/Baltimore are really bad and crime-ridden (and YET houses are still expensive), and even though in most cases you have ton drive quite a ways even to get to these cities. And I would not even care about being near a big city. I just need to find a cheap house, and I would not even mind going to another state, but my father doesn't want to leave Maryland and I myself still can't drive even though I am 21 because I have not learned how to drive, and it is too difficult a process to get a license in Maryland. So why are all of the houses in Maryland so expensive, even being in a really bad area? I mean at least with every other state there are some cheap houses, but I never see any in Maryland...Is there a site where I can do a statewide search? Link?

If I return an item I buy on my credit card, does that lower my FICO score?

Also, if I set a single credit card aside so that all purchases on it are purchases that I plan to return, will that hurt my FICO score, or my relationship with the issuer of that particular credit card?

Kim and Dan Bergholt are both government workers. They are considering purchasing a home in the Washington D.C. area for about $280,000. They estimate monthly expenses for utilities at $220, maintenance at $100, property taxes at $380, and home insurance payments at $50. Their only debt consists of car loans requiring a monthly payment of $350.

Kim's gross income is $55,000/year and Dan's is $38,000/year. They have saved about $60,000 in a money market fund on which they earned $5,840 last year. They plan to use most of this for a 20% down payment and closing costs. A lender is offering 30-year variable rate loans with an initial interest rate of 8% given a 20% down payment and closing costs equal to $1,000 plus 3 points.

Before making a purchase offer and applying for this loan, they would like to have some idea whether they might qualify.

Estimate the affordable mortgage and the affordable purchase price for the Bergholts.
Suppose they do qualify; what other factors might they consider before purchasing and taking out a home mortgage?
What future changes might present problems for the Bergholts?

I have a bunch of negative, but unfortunately accurate, items on my 3 credit reports. They range in amount from a stupid little $28 to a whopping $6300 auto loan that is from 1995. What do i pay off? What do I dispute? Who do I contact first - Credit Bureaus for dispute or Creditors/Collection Agencies for settlement for removal? Will they really remove it from my reports? Do I deal with the the original creditor or the collection agency that is reporting it to the CRAs. My total debt is only about $11000, do you think I can turn my credit around? If so, how long do u think it will take? My scores are in the 540 range.

Current credit:
1 CC always paid on time never reaching half of available credit.
1 consolidated school loan always on time, and paid according to plan
I have rented an apartment and have had bills in my name NEVER late

Credit Marks: (unpaid)
1 large account (late 2003)
2 small accounts (late 2003, will negotiate payment on these first)
5 or so inquires due to starting utilities, apartment, and application of a credit card / car loan

Credit Scores: (Bad?)
Ex 627
Trans 664
Eq 630

Questions:
1.If I request validation of the debt , does this restart the SOL (TX 4?)
2.If I attempt to request validation or try and negotiate does this restart the 7 years?
3.Can a score of 700 or higher be attained in a reasonable amount of time with my current situation, and would it matter with the marks still there?
4.How bad will my score be affected NOW if I attempt to renegotiate these collection items ?

I've got a new job offer and I've accepted and I planned on giving two weeks' notice on Friday. My boss didn't come into the office that day, so I called back and asked for an extension of one day on my start-date with my new job. So, it's Monday and the boss still isn't in her office! I could email her a note and attach the 2-week notice/letter of resignation, but that seems like poor form. I want to give it to her personally, but if she's not here, how do I negotiate that?!
I don't want to go over her head and hand it to the next in line, but I don't want to sit on my hands and fall liable for not having provided two weeks' notice, either. What should I do?
Also, it's a very bad time for me to leave my company, as so many others have quit and they are sooo short-handed, so how do I break this news to my boss gently, or is there just no easing the moment? Thanks in advance!

This is just for an article I'm writing. I just need to know how much you spend for each insurance every month and what you get from it. Co-pays, deductables, what insurance promises to pay for.
Health? Do you get it from your employer or did you buy it yourself?
Auto?
homeowners?

I am in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I need to find locations for my Snack/Soda Vending machines mainly in the Phoenix, North Phoenix, Scottsdale areas. I need the location that has lots of employees and a ton of foot traffic. My goal is to pull at least $80 to $100 from each machine each week. I can't trust locators and they all charge an arm and leg and they all lie. I need someone to help me out. Maybe they know someone that need a machine or maybe they have a well established vending business that I can take over. My machine holds 20 snacks on top and 5 canned drinks on the bottom and it is compact. Email me if you can help. Thanks
