My father has been disabled 9 months of this year and has been living with me. He is not working and has no income until disability kicks in. Can I claim him on my taxes and if so, how much can I expect to get back?

Very possibly, for federal - Texas of course does not have a state income tax.

You can claim your father if you meet all of the following:
(1) you provided over half of his support for the year
(2) his gross income for the year was under $3400 - you say he was disabled 9 months of this year, but if he worked the other 3 months, that might prevent you from claiming him.
(3) he does not file a joint return for the year.
