Recently I opened a checking account with that bank and little later I got a statement regarding credit card balance owed (amount close to what I originally owed - about 2500) with minimum payment due. Basically, it seems very legitimate letter and payments are affordable etc.

At the same time I started getting calls from a collection agency regarding the same exact credit card debt, who said they bought this debt last year and tried to contact me. At first the guy mentioned amount twice as much as I originally owed (about 5000). Then I mentioned letter from bank and he offered to settle for the same 2500. I insisted, and he will send me a letter with his offer. (which is paying over 6 mo period).

My concern is - whom should I pay? I prefer to pay bank However, will I have a problem with collection agency then? How is it possible that I have two creditors now?

Basically, what should I do? I prefer to pay bank, but how can I get rid of the agency

I had an idea. I want to live in a particular area but can't afford the rent. I know when my parents pass on they will have a fair amount of money to leave to myself and siblings.

Do you think if I asked my parents to help me out pay my rent and leave me less money in their will? Or is that silly?

Hey lady, (i use her name) I am slammed with this crap will you give me a hand? she says yes most the time or makes up some lame excuse, but she ends up not doing it or re asking boss lady if she is allowed or something along those lines!

my boss is aware of this and says to just bring i my task list and she will highlight what she want's the Lady to do for me! she signs it and i give it to lady.

I never was fond of the idea that taxes were taken from your pay check, then you go into a store and your taxed there as well, so when one of the candidates for the 2008 election brought up the idea of getting rid of the IRS and replacing it with a flat tax rate on thing we purchase I was happy.

This will I believe make it easier for online sellers, like me, to sell items and wouldn't have to worry about keeping the books, it will also make those underground businesses, i.e. Drug dealers, Prostitution, etc have to pay taxes as well.

(Question raised about that last part, I was always under the assumption that underground businesses were illegal because they didn't pay taxes, atleast this is how laws were set in the beginning to prevent these businesses. So what would the outcome be, without the IRS and a taxable market place?)

about a month ago, a coworker went to HR with a bogus story that I and another coworker spoke innapropriately around her, her claim was false, I refused to sign the harrasment write up because it was false. since then she has been fired for lying which proved even more that we were innocent of her claim, still on wednsday, me and this other individual were also fired because of tardiness, without the bogus harrasment charge this would have just been our first write up, but since the charge still stood, the company decided to let us go, I feel that I was wrongfully let go and am being advized by other coworkers that I should pursue legal action, can anyone tell me if I have a case, or can anyone tell me where I can go or who I can talk to to find out.

My credit score is a 450 and I need to get a loan for approximately $10,000. My credit score is poor because I had to take over some debt from an ill parent. I am in the process of getting my credit back on track. I have searched the internet for hours and find articles on how easy it is to get a bad credit loan. So far I haven't found any of these sights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you get into a car accident with a government vehicle.(a government vehicle hits your car) You have to go to the hospital, and now have these medical bills that are due, can it hurt your credit. They have admitted fault and are going to pay the bills but it will take weeks to get them paid. By then the bills will be past 120-days and get turned over to collections. What do I do? how can you keep this from going on your creditm when you don't have the money to pay it and are forced to wait for on the government to pay.

thanks
