I have several items schedualed to come off in te next two months because of the seven year limit... Some people have told me that the collection agencies can just resubmit these debts as new and get them put back on, or get the date moved back... Is that true? What can I do about it?

My credit card company told me that if I make any payments over $500, that they are required by law to hold it for 10 days before crediting my account. Also, they told me that the same holding period is required if I make more than one payment in any billing cycle. I have Googled my fingers off, and can not find any references to any such law. Does it exist? Or is my CC company just feeding me a line.

Here's the deal...

I've given my two weeks notice. I am supposed to go to Vegas this Thurs & Fri. for a trade show - I don't want to go. The company has already purchased my plane ticket and hotel room.

I know, I know, its Vegas but I don't want to go. Trade Shows are boring and you work your rear-end off - you never get anytime for yourself.

How do I get out of this without burning bridges...

i was trying to save $100 a week to go towards a downpayment on a house, then my fiance's car died and we had to buy him a new one. i had to cosign so he could get it, and this is his first car thats not on his mom's insurance so the insurace payments pretty much tripled.
so now i have to figure out a budget for us so that we can start saving again, yet still make the payments (we went from no car payments and only $175/mo in insurance to $325 car payments and $300/mo in insurance). i still have to worry about credit card payments (i pay those on my own) and we still need to keep saving up for a house. we're getting married in 1.5 years and i would like to be able to get a house before then! help! because of this, i havent been able to save my $100/week for a month now.

i have no clue where to start on the whole budge making thing. i started 2 days ago making a list of everything we spend money on for the next month, but what to do after that? or before that? lol. help!

It's now been nearly a year since I've been actively searching for a job. Four interviews later and still nothing. Heck I had an interview TODAY and received the rejection email just a few minutes ago.

I'm getting frustrated. I have a flipping degree and that's what is supposed to be my key to success. Yeah, right. No experience but a degree = bad news.

I'm not even being picky--it's not like I'm expecting to make a certain amount of money. It's not like I'm just sending my resumes to jobs that sound fun. I've had my resume and cover letter critiqued by professionals so many times.

I don't know how to stay motivated anymore. It's like I walk into an interview knowing that I won't get it.I want my youthful spirit back.

I'm just to the end of my ropes right now. I even tried a temp agency and WAS TURNED AWAY. They told me that I could use my degree in better ways.

I don't know how I'm going to face my husband tonight and tell him that I didn't get the job.

A company is buying the company I work for - they are offering crappy jobs that pay less and when people turn them down, they give up their right to unemployment, essentially being laid off but not getting their benefits. Is there a legal threshold for how much less they can offer?

I have a Discover card that I got in 2000 with a current limit of $3,600 and a $0 balance that I no longer use. Within the last year, I have gotten a VISA Platinum and a MasterCard with limits totalling $21,000 and balances totalling $2,100. My credit scores are great. I want to get rid of the Discover. Now this Discover card is not the oldest item on my credit report. I have a student loan that is about 6 months older. I have been told and also read that you don't want to get rid of your oldest credit source. Will cancelling this card affect my scores even though I have the student loan on my report?

I got an email stating that I had won $1,200,000, a dell inspiron 6400 notebook, and a UK Lottery brand t-shirt and baseball cap. They gave me a ticket number and a tracking number so I can locate the package at all times. But they want me to send a shipping fee and claim they can't take it out of the prize money because of the insurance policy. Is this legitimate or just another scam?

A person can give multiple 12k to anyone without being taxed but the question is does the IRS question the person receiving?
A lot of people around me are getting married and (so will i in the near future) so naturally i am wondering what the maximum amount a person can receive before the IRS comes to the picture. For example: It doesnt make sense that a person can receive 100k from many people without having to report it to the IRS. The IRS website mentions the amount a person can give as a gift but nothing about the person receiving it.

I just started working at a dept. store and learning the ropes. I've been an associate for about 2 months part-time. I love the job and most of the people that I work with are very nice. However, I have one manager that is just plain rude/mean. I was taking care of a family of customer mom,dad and two toddlers. They purchased a box of tennis shoes and normally I have to check the size/style but, the mother was wearing them. I mentioned that we check and there was a "break" in the transaction as the mother was going to take the children to the car. BEFORE I could say/do anything my manager Screams at me "YOU NEED TO CHECK HER SHOES NOW !" Honestly, I was shocked that someone much less a manager would speak to me in that type of tone. So, I paused and asked the customer politely if I could check her shoes?" she was fine with it but, NOT with the way the manager delt with me. They told the manager that she was rude/inconsiderate of me and wanted the corporate number names etc...

I really don't think it's my business, but there have been several problems that relate to it.

It turns out that Anthony, my butler, is having quite the relationship with Juan the gardener. Their favorite spot to meet, unfortunatly, is in the green house. I have had to replace 28 panes of glass and have had to have Juan re-pot most of my prize orchids. It would seem that they are quite vigorous in their attraction to each other.

Be that as it may, how do I express my dissatisfaction with the costs I have had to incur without interfering with what appears to be a wonderful relationship?

I work for a small company with a very tight budget. I've noticed some dissention in the ranks and wanted to make some suggestions to the higher- ups but know that anything costing $$ will be shot down. What are some things that your bosses have done that made you feel appreciated? What are thngs you've done for employees that worked well to increase morale? What do you wish your boss/ company would do for you?

Thanks in advance!
