It will appear online, but it depends on how long it takes the store to process it. I have returned things at the grocery store that showed up on the same day. On the other hand, when a rental car company issued a refund to my credit card, it took a couple of weeks.

Contact the store that did the return, they can be more specific as to how long it should take.

The quickest would be 24 hours. If they swipe your card or a return like at Home Depot where they go off the bar code from the recipts it should show online in 24 to 48 hours excluding weekends.

If it is a written refund request that is not processed electronically infront of you it could take much longer. Fortunately this is done electronically almost every where.

Legally, the company has up to 30 days to issue the credit. After the credit has been issued, it can take 2-5 days for the credit to process and appear on your account.

If you returned the item in person, and you received a printout from the store with a credit for your card, then it should be there that day on line or the next.

If you had to have something shipped back, then figure on two weeks.

It can take anywhere from 5-21 days, depending on the store's policy. You need to check with the store itself.
