When collecting Unemployment Insurance does it all come out of a general fund or does the former employer pay a portion to the State which is directly earmarked for that laid off person, and if so what percentage does the employer pay?

I own a video store and had an employee working fo me like 5 months ago, we fired her because she stole $500 for our cash drawer (she would not admit to it) she borrowed $100 like 2 months ealier and never paid back, I lent it cash, which was a big mistake on my end....but what should i do? Should I go to collections or what?

ok so i dont really know how to get a paypal account but i just signed up for a savings account with CIBC (on the top of the card it says Convenience Card, then under 16 digits) so i am wondering how i can get a paypal account now?

I injured my back (not at work), doctor wrote me out for 5 days then released me back to work on light duty. I am in the nursing assistant field in a local skilled nursing facility. However, when I took my doctor's note to my employer, they informed me since I was not hurt on the job, they could not give me light duty. Can they deny me work even though I am released to work on light duty? I live in North Carolina and I know this is an at will state.

If my employer insists they can't give me light duty, will my short term disability insurance still pay me if I have been released for light duty but my employer won't do it?

My name is Fahad. I am 17 years old, a junior in High School right now. I always wanted to work for any major profitable oil company. I want to decide my carrer as soon as possible. Please tell me more about the possibility of sucess in oil field for the future? I want to pre-plan. Is it possible that I may get training for any company in which they can train me and when i graduate from High School they can hire me. Any advice is welcome.

i have a friend that got a reply from her resume for working from home and i wanted to know if anyone heard of Trendprior International Clothing E-trading. they want her to be a payment representative by cashing checks get her precentage out of it and send the remaing to their companies? i looked the webiste up and it had information on it but it was in french so i really dont know what it is informing about? can someon give some advice?

Im 14, and I have always been interested in buisness. I am seroiusly starting to decide where some of my interests for a career are and buisness is becoming a serious option. I know I am still young, because im only in grade 9, but time will pass by fast just 3 more years till grade 12, exams, and acutally deciding what im going to be. I know buisness can be extremley tiring, brutal, and boring work, and only few buisnessmen can become very sucessful because of the competitve market, but what are some of the great business degrees to have? and jobs related to buisness? I am just curoius because I want to know what my options are. How many years does it take to get those excellent buisness degrees. And isa career in buisness really worth all the time and effort spent at school? Thank You!

I have worked for a company for about 10 years now. I started working there since I was 18. Through the years I have worked my way up the ranks. Recenlty two key employees were let go due to down sizing. Those two employees started their own business and started competing againt our company. Now, they want me to sign a non-compete agreement. I do not want to sign because If I ever let go I would want to do this type of work. I am very familiar with the industry and I know I would do quite well. Do I have to sign? If I do not sign, what will happen? Will I get fired?

I'm international student under F-1 visa, stuying in college in California. I wonder why i have to pay taxes when i buy stuffs. since i dont have any benefit from the gorverment, why do i have to pay tax? is that anyway i can have my tax return? i dont understand how is this work. some of my friend said that if i show them my passport, i will not have to pay tax when i buy something, is that right ?

I just got my first job today as a Field Engineer with duties including picking up parts from central office, delivering it to customers and if required installing these parts. The job will run for 2 months, after which I may or may not be asked to stay on.

As happy as I am to have got the job, I am now having problems because I have been told that I will need to use my own van when doing this job.
I am really confused about what to do now, I don't have a van and don't really want to buy a van just in case I am told that I can't stay on after the 2 months.

I have just had a quick look at some van hire companies on the net and the cheapest I could find for a 2 month period is £1600(not sure if this includes insurance).

The job itself only pays £300-£400 per week, its also in central London so the added hassle of £8 daily congestion charge.

Any advice or suggestions about what I could do to afford this job would be greatly appreciated.

I know this may be rather irresponsible of me but I have backed myself into a corner and I see no escapes other than declaring chapter 7. If I never would have financed my car (at age 19 now 22), then I would not be here asking about it. I still have 3 years left of payments on my car and insurance on top of that plus living expenses. I DO NOT wish to work full-time like I have been for the past 3 years because I want to just focus on school and not worry about bills. I only work part-time now and my income does not meet my needs. I figured why not since I won't be buying a house anytime soon. I plan on saving up for a cheap car (about 2 grand) to have until way after graduate school and an established career. I was very naive and ill-advised a few years back and would rather suffer with a bad credit report now than deal with the bills and be forced into full-time work again. Please, I need some honest, sensible opinions. Thanks!

I will be making approx 90K a year. My dilemma is that I would like to know approx how much taxes I will be expected to pay (both federal and state). I live in MA where there is a 5% income tax. I have the maximum allowable deduction for school loan interest ($2500), and I will be filing jointly with my husband. I will be paying my own (and my husbands health insurance) approx $8500 a year for both of us. My work related expensive are about $4000 a year. My husband usually owes about 11K on his own of taxes after deductions (he is a partner in an LLC) a. We have no dependants. And cannot claim our mortgage interest/payment (another story!). I have some other small deductions but nothing too significant. What @ will I owe. I found an online irs fed tax calculator and added that number to my 5% state tax and got approx 9000+4500=13500. I feel like this is way to low and that I must be doing something wrong since my husband isn't paying much less making 45K. Help!

I have been with the company for 5 years, I just moved ina leadership position which is very stressful. I have asked my boss for part time work about 6 weeks ago (which was approved) but I am still very stressed as the company hasn't provided me with the support ( i do 5 days work in 3 days). I quit on Monday without having another job. I emailed by boss as he was not at work and I am meting with him on Monday. He is very keen to keep me (he is all talk but no actions by the way - promises things that he won't keep) but I feel that I am destroying my health>> Did I make the right decision by quitting and waht shoudl I tell him on Monday??

I am trying to apply for an internship at Rockwell Collins (an aerospace tech company). I know a manager there, and I asked him if he could post an opening on the Rockwell website. Only problem is that I emailed him about 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything back. I tried calling his number for his work phone and haven't gotten him either. What should I try next? I'm seventeen and about to go to college, i work at a elementary school in a tutoring program that helps little kids. My grades have come down for some reason idk. The job is afterschool and get paid $8 an hour i work 1.5 hrs a day M-F. Should i quit the job is it really affecting me idk what to think i got 2 f's in math an Ap psych and got a D on physics, teachers reccomend coming afterrchool for tutoring but i cant cuz i go to work. What do u think i should do??? is $12 really worth my grade i have a 2.7 GPA and wanna get into San Diego State do you think i should let he job go or let my grades go?? pleez need to know! (perents say quit but i want money to buy stuff like clothes or money to spend they won't give me any they can't)
