I have an interview for a clerical position (Administrative Assistant and Reception) and I have a hard time coming up with an answer for the common question, "Describe a difficult situation you had with a co-worker and tell me how you resolved it."
Anybody that can just make up something or give me an example of when they had a difficult time with a co-worker. I appreciate anyones help .

You should really find something in your own history. The interviewer is trying to see how you handle yourself which can be very important for a receptionist.

How about an incident where a fellow employee was too loud or chatty and interferred with you ability to work?

I had an employee, who had excessive absentees. First I gave her a verbal warning which I had written up and had her sign.

The second time she started with being absent, I printed out her attendance, because we keep track of that, then gave her a written if she did not correct it she would have a 3 day suspension , she needed to keep a good attendance for 60 days. If she failed to do so then termination.

Her absences were always on the same day. Like Mondays' and Thursdays. She would have about 3-4 in a month. She is a good worker, however.. I can replace her.

Having it on record what it does it, protects the employer from having to pay unemployment, if a case is taken against the company.

Just following policy of the company, I am sure the place your going to will have some type of policy in place.

Not sure if this will help you , but you can use it.
