I went to a computer store to purchase a computer, and went to a store in Ohio. My non-profit business is based in KY and I was purchasing something for it in OH. The store said it was policy that I have to have Ohio's stamp to be tax-exempt. The manager said quote "Our policy is tougher than other places." Can they do this, I was under the impression that being tax-exempt in KY and federally, I would be okay.

I am looking to re-locate w/ my girlfriend out of state. She makes 50,000 a year, and I will be making 45,000+ a year. She has a credit score in the 700-800 range, and I am in the 600 range. We want to buy a house. She doesnt know this, but i am going to propose if I get the job out of state. She will say yes..lol..I know this. The basis of question is how does a mortgage/loan application work when you are engaged? We are only looking to buy a house in the 100,000 - 150,000 range. We can certainly make that work w/ our incomes. Our credit card debt is around 2,000. However we do not have money to put anything substantial down on a down payment. (unless I tap my 401k). Can anyone offer any advice? We are 100% wanting to buy a house vs renting.

I have a question...CAN THEY DO THIS???? I live in a house, the owners have a management company do all their work for them. Well, I started gettin all this mail saying"we can save your home, for about a month, to the OWNERS(husband and wife) I never understood why they mail would come here even the deed came when i first moved in. Anyway, the house was lost to foreclosure and up for sheriff sale the 17th of this month. When management called to collect, and I told them, they did not know anything about it being in forclosure. Management went on to tell me how they refuse to collect any money on this address. Well about 2 weeks later, i get a 7 day notice,I call and asked why and management said the owner is going to get the house back or some bull, and I still have to pay rent, I just want to know can they do this, even if they did give me a date when we go to court how long tops would I have, I have a family of 7, need help people...Please people that understand and truly have answer

We put an offer on the house 10 days ago. As we found out, the property is a foreclosure and owned by the bank.
It's been over 10 days and the bank did not give us an asnwer yet. Theoretically our offer is expired.
I've been told, that sometimes banks prefer not to give an answer for as long as they could while stretching the time expecting better offer.
Our offer was not full price. How can I expedite the process? Anyone has the experience bying a foreclosure? Why is it taking so long?

I have just received a notice of proposed assessment from the State Of Georgia. It basically says that I have been audited and found to owe $331.00 from the year 2005. It also outlines ways I can protest.

It also says that additional information is on the reverse side of the bill. That section is blank. There is no explanation as to WHY my 2005 taxes were wrong. I called the GA Dept of Revenue, and they said that they couldn't pull up my taxes because I filed electronically. Still, no explanation as to WHY I owe them $331.00.

I can protest in writing, but how can I argue with their numbers if I don't have them?

-->Adam

P.S. If it matters, I live in Indiana and only have a little bit of LLC income from Georgia.

Me and my fiance have been approved for about 290,000 of financing (we would never finance that much). We are looking for homes that are about 110-145k. We live in Wisconsin where the homes are much cheaper than out west or in the big city.
What is your best advice for a first time home buyer on real estate agencies, financing, or just general advice? Thanks for your input, it is appreciated!

I aquired 2 new credit cards in June (BP and Home Depot). My score immediately dropped from 702 to 641 (FICO). As of today my score has not risen 1 point ! True Credit states the reason is I aquired the cards in too short of time. Now had I been denied the cards my score would have not dropped. My banker says I should cancel the cards and it should go back up. Since the score hasn't risen at all in 4 months I'm pondering doing just that! Any thoughts?

According to MYFICO.COM, "Your FICO score measures the age of your oldest account and the average age of your accounts." So what this translates to is: Age Discrimination! They also say, "FICO High Achievers opened their oldest account 19 years ago, on average." How are we, in our twenties, supposed to have THAT long of a credit history? Or do lenders take into consideration our age and then understand why we have such a short credit history? ( 15% of our score is based on LENGTH ) In my opinion, they are basically saying the older we get, the less of a risk we become?? NOT ALWAYS TRUE

This year we want to do something new. Has anyone received or given a truly amazing gift from/to another company? Remember also, we have to keep costs down! Thanks!

Hi, my friend is being sued by her former landlord for $4000 in damages to the place. She is contesting this amount, she agreed on some of the damages and paid those to him. The landlord provided her with a written accounting of the damages 30 days after moving out. but they were without reciepts and for ridiculous charges that she contested with a letter immediately after she recieved this letter. Six months later he provided reciepts that didn't even cover all of what he was charging for and a few reciepts had double entires all contradicting each other.

Does anyone know what consitutes a written accounting? can it just be a arbitrary figure written down and sent to the former tenant, or do you have to provide receipts and explanations at this time?

This is in Oregon. Thank you.
