I don't think my employers at my work like me, so they are limiting my work week to only 3 hours a week! It used to be about 26 in the summer, then about 10 when school started, and now 3...they must really want me to quit...

Hello, I have a valid debt of $1,000 owed to a bank from five years ago that is not on my credit report. My credit is perfect right now.
I am looking to buy a house. Should I call the collection agency and pay off the debt... or just leave it alone. I am afraid if I call, it will be placed on my report. But I am afraid if I do nothing it could be too. Tough call. Any advice.
I believe the agency made a mistake not placing this on my report
Thanks.

I have 2 credit cards and they're not even that much. I've been paying every month to reduce the balance but after interest charges, it seems to go straight back up. I recently checked my credit score, and it's in pretty OK shape. I know if I get another credit card, my credit limit will be enough to cover for both debts. My plan is to just get a new credit card with no interest for one year and pay them off then cancel my other 2 credit cards.
Is that a safe idea? Will it affect my credit score (negatively) that much to do so?
Thanks.

In the long run; is it better to rent an apartment or to rent / 'rent to own' a house?

We have a mortgage for 146,000. Value according to mortage holders is around 205,000. We have a fixed 6.65% rate and have 26 yrs left on mortgage. Current holder could roll all of our debt into home loan and reduce our rate by .25%. Bringing our payment with escrow, insurance, taxes, etc.. from 1460.00 to 1750. Our debt includes 14,000 in student loans, 14000 in credit cards, 15,000 in vechiles as well as 10,000 on HELOC. The question is this almost taps out the entire equity in our home and we would also have a thirty year loan again. Would this be a wise move? Thanks. BTW both of our middle credit scores are mid 720. We make about 110,000 a year.

I recently moved to Atlanta from New Jersey. I am looking to move into a room in the Midtown area of Atlanta. I have been in here for a week, and have seen several places that I'd like to move into. I have been staying at a friend's house until I find a suitable place. She has given me a month to find a place. I have received offers to move in, but only in areas that are either ghetto, or too far from potential work and school.

The issue is this: The ideal places are in so much demand, that the landlord or people in charge of renting the room have PLENTY of choices in selecting a roommate, therefore I have not gotten a call back from these particular places. I am confident about my appearance and demeanor, and I have handled years of rooming with friends in New Jersey without a problem. My question is: Should I call the places I like, and somehow convince them to choose me? Any other tips? Should I wear a suit when visiting the room? Dress to impress? Thanks.

I am planning to open my own shipping company. I want to cover air, land, and sea. I hear about many people starting a shipping business and becoming rich, but I am not sure exactly how to start a business. I know it involves buying several older ships, having them refurbished, and putting them back to use, or buying several beat up Lincolns and turning them into taxis, and so on. The other way is to start my own banking company, but I have no clue at all how to start a banking company.

So we JUST put our house on the market (yesterday afternoon). And today we got our 1st viewer. I am a VERY clean person. Pantry items are faced forward so labels are visible, shoes are nicely paired, beds made religiously. Everything is in PLACE. And I have been told several times that I really know how to decorate. Thing is, after the viewing today, the realtor said that the viewer REALLY REALLY liked my house, but is looking for a 3 bedroom rather than a 2 (as mine is a 2). Then she said that it looked too perfect, almost like it was staged to look that good!!! SO, what should I do? Take it as a compliment? Mess a few things up? I just didn’t know there was such thing as too clean & a house looking too perfect. So I wash, dry, & put up my dishes after every use – Is that a crime? : ) LOL!!!

Been working for a hospital in New Jersey for 4 years and thinking of moving to Florida. I've been told that we are invested after 5 years. I make between 30-33 grand a year. One of my co-workers just retired after 33 years and he collected $95,000. Should I try to stay and try to collect or should I just go ahead and move because it wont even be worth it.
