I'm 15 & my mum would give me $35-$40 per week but I can never seem to have more than $100 in my wallet?
What bothers me more is that after a day in the mall [money gone] I start to regret. Like, I didn't exactly NEED those shoe or those headbands...
How do you save your money when hitting the mall/shops?

I lost my job and need the money that I have put into my 401k. My boss told me that we have a safe harbor 401k and that I have to wait until next year after taxes to get my money unless I want to pay a $125 fee. I have never received any thing about the plan except the $150 that I have taken out every pay check. Nothing showing me my balance or even the company how is handling it. All I know is that my boss is the trusty of the plan.

So... I am a software developer for a company. I'm 18 and I know I'm young, but I am expected to understand and program in C#, VB, stored procedures, HTML, Javascript, CSS, ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0. I have gone through community college and know how to do everything I'm asked to do, including some certifications. But I believe I'm being taken advantage of (meaning under-paid) because of my age. I talked to a new employee who recently left for a better job. He's a great guy and a good friend of mine, but he doesn't know C# very well. I recently found out that after 6 months of working there, I discovered that the new people are getting paid twice as much as I am. I worked full time all summer and now I'm working part time until next summer. What should I do? Ask for a raise? Wait things out? I don't know...

I have a bachelor's degree and most of my recent work experience is in the finance field or as a math tutor. I am in school to get my certification to be a high school math teacher. My current tutor job is drying up (going out of business) and I don't really have many other options I can think of.

I figure that working as a waitress would be a good job pay wise, as I am in class (or doing observations at schools) from 8am-5pm, so that leaves out most office work.

I've never worked as a waitress, though I do have good cash handling experience and with a degree I'm obviously more than intelligent enough for the job.

Also, I am not adversed to working in a bar or strip club if that becomes an option.

However, what are some potential weak points and how can I overcome them in an interview? I'd like to work at a higher priced place than Denny's or Applebee's to yield higher tips, obviously.

I'm also open to suggestions for other jobs.

I have started a bookkeeping business and I am interested in learning to do taxes.

I'm thinking I would like to do just personal taxes and maybe work my way into small business taxes.

Is it easy to learn to file taxes? And what software is recommended (QuickBooks user)? How much should I charge?

I am just trying to make up my mind if I want to put the time and money into learning this. I realize I will have costs involved and I am wondering if it will be worth it.

I would love some input...THANKS!

Ok, so i recently pulled my credit report for the first time EVER. Im 32 yrs old and Im trying to clean up my credit. I had great credit before and ruined it about 5 years ago. Im trying to get back on track and need some advice. I got 8 bad accounts removed from my report and my score went up 35 points which is better than nothing but I was expecting a bigger score increase. Now, i do have an account as an Authorized user with a $29000 credit limit and it has a $26000 balance right now. I dont use it at all it belongs to my sister. She has had me on it since I was 18 yrs old and I only used it up until i turned 21. She has ALWAYS been current on it. Now my question is this. Is that account hurting me more that it is helping me? should i remove myself from that? Its been open since 1997 and always current. Please advise.

hello...
i need some help.
i took out a loan a few months ago, for $1200, with a $50 charge for the application. i have been paying it back since then, and dont know how much i still owe. I am resigning from this job ( government job ) in November, due to reloacting.
I know i will be given the option to cash out on my loan or repay it or something like that. If i cash out, i will get penalized when i do my taxes in Jan. I make just under 33,000/yr. with 2 dependants. my child and myself. i always get a refund.
my question is... what is the difference in the amount i will be taxed if i dont pay the loan back in full, or if i just cash out all together...!!??!!
(( i already know i shouldnt cash out, cuz of the future, bla bla bla, etc. ))
i just want to know what my options are. i still want to recieve my tax return, since its something that is always useful and helpful to me, since i am a single parent.
the more thurough your answer, the better.
thanks for your help people!

My auto loan was charged off about 3months ago and it went to a collection agency they called today and stated they needed the full amount in 72 hours or they are coming for the car. I asked them could I pay $100 a month but they said no. They told me to try and borrow from a relative or friend. I owe 2400 dollars and no one has that kind of money right now. so what can or should i do??? btw in texas and the original loan was for 12,000 in 2001.
