I want to start a website that sells abercrombie clothes only is this illigal since they are a chain store?

Ummm.. I think you'll find Abercrombie being a high end snot nosed designer label, will have VERY tight and EXCLUSIVE distribution rights and even more limited retail rights.. in other words.. YOU CANT JUST SELL IT!!

Technically, you can try sell it and even try sell the knock off merchandise since so many of our Chinese counterparts seem to specialise in this.. BUT it is NOT LEGAL!!

Many fashion labels operate under tight security as they do not want their competitors to copy their designs anmd styles.. by putting up products that may not be released yet in some areas, you might actually be accused of hamering their commercial prospects, and in effect CAN be sued for that .. for their losses!! ESPECIALLY if you use outlets like ebay which has a wide berth and exposure, this will simply cause them more damage and subject you to a greater penalty..

I got an idea for you dude.. why dont you invent your own label, come up with your own styles and designs.. market it at your own expense.. build your own market.. over 20 years as abercrombie has done .. and then you can sell your own clothing for your own profts without stealing and leeching off an independetly established label..

I'm not a supporter of fashion dude.. but what you are doing is not exactly ethical.. and actually makes clothing more epxensive for the rest of us who do not buy cheap discounted and often fake designer goods..

You may want to check with an attorney on this. Abercrombie and Fitch own the copyright and the distribution rights for their products. So, check first before jumping into the fray.
