Double check with your bank to be sure, but I think the bank stamps it and it will go right on thru. It's kinda strange that the clerk didn't catch the lack of endorsement.

It actually depends entirely on the bank the check is drawn on. If they decide to be a pain, they CAN refuse the check even if your bank stamps 'For Deposit Only' or the equivalent as an endorsement. If they paying bank doesn't complain, the check CAN clear with no endorsement at all.

well there's either of two things that can happen
1. the teller making the deposit noticed this and since it was a deposit only may have written or stamped for deposit only on the back on the check (some banks will allow this and allow you to deposit the check so long as the name on the account is the same as that who the check is made out to) and the deposit will go through
2. you will be returned the check and the deposit will not go through
best of luck on this though

It depends on what kind of check is it.
A government check requires endorsement. You will receive the deposit but your account will also be debited and your deposited check will be returned for your signature.

You must prove you are the one who is cashing the check. You sign on the back to say, yes, it is me and I am cashig the check. You sign on the back of the check, on the first line at the top when you hold the check lengthwise. They did care before when you did it, but they made a mistake. Go sign the check and be glad they caught it. Next time it could be a withdrawl and they dont get the right signature, and someone takes 4K from your account.

Nope. Your bank will likely notify you of the error and may return the check to you with a fee.
