I have a garnishment but they havent found out were I work at yet. My question is in the state of louisiana can they take my income taxes if I file?

You don't have garnishments, you have judgments against you and your wages are subject to garnishment.

That depends upon what the garnishment is for.

If it's for a commercial debt, they cannot take your tax refund.

If it's for back taxes, unpaid student loans, unpaid child support, or certain debts to the government they can and will almost certainly file with FMS for your tax refunds.

yes, but dear heart, when you got hired, they are required to fax a copy of the state w4, so they DO know where you work. They dont tell you ahead of time when they are going to zap your check, but any bank account you have (even if you have one WITH someone else) will be subject to the same wage execution order. Yes, they can take the state and federal tax return. Your BEST bet is to call them, suck it up and make a payment arrangement you can KEEP. Even if it is only $10 a pay period, then KEEP it. It's not that bad, really.
