Did you provide your assistant with a list of duties, or just tell her what was expected. Did you have her sign a sheet. I just fired my last assistant because she wasn't doing much work; so now I am trying to make sure my new assistant has clear direction and isn't just getting free money

I was working at this job some time ago and had to take a emergency leave from the job... considering this is a nice job and the boss was good to me i let him know exactly what was going on and reassured myself a job upon my return. Just like that when i returned to the area the former boss (took a couple months) got me right back into the same posiition with same pay. (good bosses are hard to find :) )... so now heres the scoop, while i was waiting to return to this job i was filling out applications to other companies that had good advancement oppertunities ( something my current job isnt able to offer ex. better pay, more hours, benifiets, and paid schooling to advance where i would like to be) .i have a interview to set up and am not sure if i should break the news before/after i landed this job, give a 2 week notice (which could work for or against me). any ideas? not really for burning either bridge... options are always nice to have. thanks in advance.

I live in florida in hillsborough fl. I've paid my roommates part of the rent (Half of total rent) for the last 3 months. Their is damges through out the aparment also(from my roommate). My roommate is only considered a occupant. My name is the primary on the lease.

Is it fear? You will never get rich by working for someone else, and actually you are just making them rich. yeah, you can invest and save for retirement, but you are always dependent on someone else. You have to kiss ***, work with people you dont like, can be laid off anytime, or lose the job if the company goes out of business.
It doesnt take a lot to start a simple business while you are in college, im not talking about anything big, online businesess are popular nowadays, and who knows, one day it may become a large global corporation.
And I know most of you will say money, but many business(especially the online or service ones) cost under 10K so start.
So why dont more people own their own business?

Im in college right now and its not for me. I have no other skills than how to be a student; even at that I'm not good. I always manage to just get by in every aspect of my life; no matter how hard I try. In order to be have at successful life, you have to have some type of skill. The only skill worth mentioning that will get me anywhere is "just making it". Other than that, I'm out of luck. My options are: Just making it out of college, barely being able to pay off debts and rent, then basically living a stress filled life.- Not my style. I'd rather live as stress free as possible. Choice 2: Quit college and work at dead beat job all my life going nowhere.- I get bored easy and hate feeling trapped. So thats not going to happen. They only other choice to be a vagrant. A BUM. Is this my skill? Living off the land? Just barely making it? Even that choice is flawed because I would be "bettering" myself. I dont even know what im asking for anymore. Guess failing is my style.

Okay, I took financial accounting a year ago and have fogotten a few things. My current accounting instructor asked our class if we knew

1. Is shipping included in price paid?
2. Is shipping ever considered an expense?
3. How do we account for shipping in journal entries?

Nobody could answer his questions so he made us search for the answers. They are due tomorrow. Unfortunately I sold my Financial Accounting book back to the bookstore last year because I needed the $. Now I wish I had it but can't afford to buy it back :( Please Help!

Hi, I will soon be purchasing a home for my mother for half the appraised value. The loan will be in my name although my mother insists both our name be on the title. I've seen conflicting information on this. Some folks have said all you need is a warning label placed on each candle, while others have said get product liability insurance which is EXPENSIVE. If I'm only selling < $1000 worth of candles per year I can't afford Product liability insurance costing more than a grand.

I received $15,000 from a sale of land in July. I had planned to make a one time payment with a 3rd quarter voucher. I missed the deadline in September for the 3rd quarterly tax payment. Is it better to pay now (late) or when the 4th payment is due (at the end of the year)? Also, I did not make a 1st or 2nd quarter payment because I didn't know I would be selling the land. Hello,

I got my H1B visa this month (I've had the TN visa for a year so far) and my current employer has given back to me the social security and medic aid deductions that have accumulated since they hire me. My employer will also not deduct these things any more.
However, my former employer had been collecting social security and medic aid but have not got that refunded yet.
Is there any way I can apply for the refund?
I still have the pay stubs from my previous employer.
