Living in Texas, I see small independent businesses like hair salon, Thia food, food shops, ect... How do these places stay open and do they make money. Is the tax system basically their way of making cash to stay open. These places stay open for years. It is the small stores that just don't go away but no one goes to. Is it the tax code?????

I purchased my first commerical property and i want to track my expenses inside a LLC, so the losses for this LLC will offset some of my other income from my other business when tax time comes on my persona return. But here is the catch.. They escrow compnay will only accpet the downpayment from my personlal account, i cannot transfer cash into the LLC and pay them with a company check. ?

Also in the future, if the company was able to cut a check from a down payment, is this considered a company expense. what would i consider this check in quickbooks ?

letters and parcels sent to you.
(This information would probably need to be added to a scannable barcode which can easily be printed by the sender from a website)

Then the person who has the email address could specify a destination on a website where all their letters are to be delivered, such as their workplace.

This would cut down, and eventually eliminate the need for time-consuming daily postal rounds in residential areas, and open the postal market effectively to competition, thus eliminating the negative influence of postal unions on this service.

Being my first job, I have little experience. I currently make around 45k but I get OT, which currently adds ~12.5%. Coming up to a review later this year, it is possible that they will make me a manager that will take away my OT pay.

I'd expect my raise to be more than the "so far" typical 5% but what if it is only 10%...I'd be making less money.

Is this common? I know that I can negotiate but asking for a 17% raise seems pretty extreme (12% to make what I currently make + 5% as a raise).

Any tips? Thanks.

I have been in a relationship with a railroader who seems financially bogged down by his ex and their 2 kids. He plans to retire in 5 yrs and says he will be set financially with railroad retirement. He hasnt really saved anything for his retirement and I am afraid his ex wife will come in to claim a share of the benefits.
I am 12 yrs younger than he and I dont want to marry him if its going to ruin me financially. I guess what I am saying is I do not want to support a man who made bad financial decisions and is dependent on me to pay his medical bills and support him because his ex wife has 1/2 his retirement and still has her finger in the pie so to speak. He says she is not entitled to retirement from him because she has re married.
He has health problems. Does the railroad continue to insure him or will he have to purchase his own insurance after retirement. We dont talk about it because he plays stupid and acts like he doesnt know the answers. Any helpful suggestions?

...and the board of trustees approved a salary for me.

However, the company never became financially stable enough to justify me taking the salary.

Is any of my work/services/expenses deductible because of this? I never received a salary from the organization, but was approved for one.

Any tax deduction tips?

I'd like to recoup my losses where I can....thanks in advance!

I want to apply for Program Officer in the United Nations in Thailand (My home country).

I am 22 years old. I have been studying a BA and a MPA degree in the U.S. I will have a Master in Public Administration in May. However, I do not have enough work experience for this position (or other postions) in the areas of study.

Most jobs require 5-10 years experiences.

Should I give it a shot anyway?

Thank you very much for your kindness.

OK, I have this tenant that refuses to leave!! Everyone said she would go when we gave her a 30 day eviction notice. Nope she didn't leave then. Then everyone said she would go when we went to our lawyers. Nope she didn't go then. We went to court and the Judge has signed eviction papers and Yep...you guessed it, she hasn't gone yet. We haven't collected rent from her since July!!! The next step is for the Sheriff to come and personally serve her with the eviction papers and she probably won't go then either. Can the Sheriff use physical force to enter the property and remove her??? We want to start remodeling the apartment to get it rented again and this person just will NOT leave, no matter what we do. My husband has confronted her and she just won't do anything....she just sits there and we can't use force to get her to leave. All though we have been thinking of leaving empty boxes on the porch. Will the Sheriff really get her to leave or what????

In Dallas, TX - Going month to month until the 60 days from our notice to move is up.

When signing the notice at the office, was told that the rent was the amount on our lease minus the 'concessions', about $150 more than the rent previously. I paid this on the 28th of last month.

Now they're saying that I owe more than this amount. Is this legal for them to do? Do I have any recourse?
