Did you provide your assistant with a list of duties, or just tell her what was expected. Did you have her sign a sheet. I just fired my last assistant because she wasn't doing much work; so now I am trying to make sure my new assistant has clear direction and isn't just getting free money

Do a criminal background check. Managing people means letting them know what they should be doing make is specific as you can then other duties as assigned. Make sure you prioritize the duties.
1. Keep kids safe, if they are hitting or pushing they need separated.
2. Keep diapers changed, specifics on hand washing, changing table cleaning, disposing of diapers.
3. Read 10 minutes at the start of each hour, tell stories for 10 minutes on the half hour.
4. Help with numbers, letters, shapes 30 minutes per day as time allows.
5. Feed kids lunch
6. Do dishes while kids nap
7. Clean faces and hands before parents start pickups.
