Ok, here's the story. I worked at a mortgage company for about a year and a half, they just recently went out of business. Luckily I was able to line another job up and have been working here for about 30 days. It's in the financial services industry also and they are now going to layoff about 30 people, the new people are part of that group. If I get layed off, can I still get unemployment until I find another job? I have kids also, so providing for them is my main concern. Thanks for the info and advice.

Do they tax imports also? if not can't rich people just buy their expensive stuff overseas and import them? or would that be more expensive than just buying it here and paying the tax?

I want to sell a 1982 Mobile home. It's a 12 x 68. It's basically completely gutted out. Nothing left in there. It pretty much needs to be completely redone on the inside, but the structure is still good. Outside just needs to be pressure washed. What could I sell it for or is there a website where I can get a general idea of what it's worth?

Just found out that I have a $600 bill collectors have been after for 7 years (actually my husbands). He tells me that after 7 years it will be cleared off his record. yes, but they are just going to write his bill off for taxes and write it into his credit report. I keep telling him he needs to pay it off before then. My question is, would it matter on paying it off or just having them sign it off? We don't have this extra $600 laying around. I just don't see the system putting it your report and not having penalties. Can some one please point me in the right direction so I can finally start getting his credit in line.

If you are able to send me to a link so I can read for myself and show my husband it can/can't hurt his score that would be extra helpful.
Thank you

I worked for an ex-colleague on a part-time basis (may be an hour for a day) . She used to pay after every two months. Our project has ended 1.5 months back and it is almost 3 months and did not receive any payment for the hours that i worked. We may again start on another project in couple of months. She also bought a house recently. She only owes me a few thousands dollars. Is it a good idea to ask for the payment now or wait for another month? If so, what is the best way to ask for it?

The main requirements of attaining a small business loan are your personal credit history, business plan, education, experience, and the feasibility of the business itself. My question is, how important is the education aspect in trying to get a loan ?

My grandparents purchased a property which has two mobile homes on it that are rented out. Both of the mobile homes were occupied at the time of purchase. One of the families that rent one of the mobile homes pays on time and keeps the property clean. The other, however never pays rent on time and keeps the property a mess. The lady has a job and also collects disability. I'm not sure how she can do both. But anyways, she says that she can not be evicted and can stay at the property for 3 months before she has to move, which makes no sense to me. The property is in the state of Tennessee. Everywhere that I have lived in Tennessee says that if you don't pay your rent, the landlord can give you an eviction notice and you have 30 days to vacate the property. Is she stating that she doesn't have to vacate for 3 months because she's on disability?

I've started doing a lot of freelance graphic art work. Mostly logo design. How much do I need to make in a year to start claiming it? Also, am I supposed to charge sales tax? I usually design their stuff and give it to them as a file and let them get it printed. So, it's seems to me that I'm offering them a service not a good? I'm in Ohio if that matters for sales tax.

I've tried everything.. seems like bankruptcy is my only choice. In Illinois if you file bankruptcy will they take your car if its almost paid off? I need a car to drive my daughter to daycare... the payments on the care are actually ontime for that reason I have about 6 more payments left. What about home loans? We bought a house 2 years ago... what happens to that? Do you lose material belongings when you file? Ugh. :(

Old taxes from years ago but IRS is getting anxious for the money. I own a business that is doing well and do not owe any current taxes. Just want them off my back. Hopefully we can compromise on a settlement.
