It's not a number of years, it's what courses you have (could be high school courses) or how you do on an entrance test.
Talk to the school you are interested in attending for your nurses training, and see what they require. Every school has different requirements.

It depends on the school, but you can forget doing it in 1 semester. I took 2 years of prerequisites before I got into nursing school at a community college. You have several maths, englishes, chemistry, biology, anatomy, electives, etc. You can count on going 4 years for a 2 year nursing degree; 2 years of prerequistes and then 2 years of flat nursing school. I've been there, I know. You can cut your prereq's short by doubling up on classes, but considering how competitive nursing schools are and how good your grades have to be to get in, I wouldn't recommend taking more than 4 classes per semester.

There are some community colleges that you can complete a nursing program in two years. One semester isnt going to cut it.. Usually it is made up of 4 regular semesters and then two summers

In addition to your basics, English, Economics, etc, you need about two years of science and math.
GO TALK TO A COUNSLER and check in often! I've wasted many a semester taking the wrong classes.
You need to start taking the sciance and math now, so you're not there 4 years.
Good luck
