question for customers, not managers :)

2007-08-30 16:14:59 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous in Marketing & Sales

I am working part-time at a horrible car dealership. Every employee there is miserable and underpaid. GOOD people have been fired left and right, and no one knows when the ax will drop on them. When I took the job, I was told it would be part-time then full-time, with part-time around 20 hours a week. The girl who was leaving changed her mind, so I have had nothing but 10-14 hours a week. The job is horrible, I am expected to do far too many things than one person is humanly capable of, I am underpaid, and I am miserable.

I as offered a great full-time job in a field I know I love, and was asked to start in a week and a half. I am just out of college, so I'd really like to one last week of summer and "childhood" before I have to be an adult.

My question is, how can I quit this job? Is it completely wrong to just say "I quit" and walk out? I really don't care about references. I just want out.

I just recently sold a legit copy of Microsoft Office Pro 2003. They buyer opted to buy it now and the item was shipped out prior to eBay pulling it off giving me some b/s reason that Microsoft thought it was a pirated copy.

In the original listing (which is no unavailable) it states all sales are final. With that said the buyer just e-mailed me and told me they need to return the time (gave no reason why) and if a full refund could be given.

I explained all sales are final and no refund will be issued. Can she come after me because she paid with paypal even though in the listing it stated no refunds will be issued all sales are final but no eBay pulled it off and I have no proof of this?

Thanks to all who answered

I am a TX resident and and Active Duty military member. I do get a clothing allowance of about 550 a yr., but by regulation I have to conform to certain standards. I get a haircut once a week ($8) plus a tip ($2). This comes out to almost my clothing allowance, plus I still have uniform expenses throughout the year which exceed the allowance. On top of that I also have to pay for gas on a vehicle ($45/week) which I use primarily to, from, and at work. What about my cell phone? I have a cell phone that I use primarily for work communications, can I write that off? I've read about the gas and phone things but I can't find anything on the haircuts.

i've paid my credit card every month completely since i've had it. i have excellent credit. My credit card is American Express. If they know I pay it off every month then why do they keep sending me mail for new cards for being such a good customer.

Oh yeah, I don't pay any yearly fees or anything. Do they make any money off me?

This is a serious question having to do with business, not the type of shrinkage George Costanza had when he got out of the swimming pool, LOL.

I am a medical resident who wants to save money so I chose to live in a farther place from my work. Now, due to the demands of my work, one hour of commute is taking its toll on me. I explained this to my landlord but he said he would sue me and did not listen to ANYTHING i said. It was a USELESS conversation because he never listened to anything I said. He just mentioned that he is going to SUE me. I did not sign a contract. Everything was only verbal. Is verbal contract binding? Please help!!

I just recently applied for a credit card. My reasons for rejection were as follows:

-AGE OF OLDEST ACCOUNT
-TOO FEW ACCOUNTS CURRENTLY PAID AS AGREED
-RATIO OF REVOLVING ACCOUNT BALANCES TO REVOLVING CREDIT LINES

Can anyone expand on these reasons and tell me what they mean? Thanks.

I am the webmaster of a financial freedom and personal finance website.

The URL is:

http://www.financialfreedomtrail.com

I am trying to craft a theme phrase that will be memorable and paint a mental picture so people will easily remember to be financially responsible.

The main theme is:

"You must spend less than you earn."

The problem is that it's boring, and people have trouble living by this essential principle.

So far I only have:

"Not managing your money wisely is like forgetting to check you fly when you come out of the men's room"

As you can see, I need something better.

Maybe something like, "Spending more than you earn is like........."

Please help me finish the sentence.

Thanks

I have about $60,000 in student loans. I am now only paying interest right now because I had to defer them in the past. I have heard that if you pay ahead it just counts towards future payments, but I would really like to pay them off early and try to pay less interest.

We are short handed at work and my manager has been going around to other employers in the same field, asking their employees if they'd like to come work for our company. Isn't that illegal? You can't just go around doing that can you? Any details would be appreciated.

Everyone states that it's the settlement company. However they do not want to take responsiblitly. I know there has to be a board or someone to go to like the "Board of Realtors", but I'm thinking it something else.

I'm very good at editing and stuff like that.
People say I should do modeling, but I don't know how to start. I'm not allergic to anything.
I HATE babysitting. I'm a girl.
Most of the businesses around here allow only 16 and over, even though at 14 I can get a permit from the highschool.
I pick up things pretty quick so I'm willing to learn pretty much any kind of work. I would walk dogs, but I just moved here and don't really know anyone. I'm also capable of something with more responsibility. I need ideas though. Help. I need a job.

Gonna cut a long story very short and I would appreciate someone with proper knowledge to answer this please :) I have a loan out with HSBC and missed a few payments. After a lump sum went into my account, they then took 3 payments out in a lump sum, leaving me wiped out. I received no notification that they were going to do this. Is this legal? If it is not legal, could someone please let me know of any legislation about this, as I am intending to take this further with the bank and (if anyone here banks with HSBC) knows that they can be little bu**ers! Thanks in advance :)
