I would like to do set something up for my newborn niece (and brother and sister-in-law) to help her financially.

What's the best way to do this, what would you suggest? Are there accounts, funds, tools that allow you to contribute pre-tax dollars and not be taxed on the growth?

I am open to setting up a college fund, but leaning to long term goals for my niece i.e., to buy a house or give her headstart on retirement.

Additional Details:
- I make a modest income, but can contribute ~ $20 month.
- I am 40 and figure I have about 25 - 30 years to do this.
- I contribute to 403b retirement accounts

Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

She has a very low income. Her property taxes each year come to $1000. I am trying to find an agency that may be able to help. I don't want her to lose her home. That new tax rebate won't help. She would have to pay the full amount before she can get the rebate. She just doesn't have that kind of money. Can anyone give me an idea of who I can contact? Thanks!

If you are receiveing an automatic monthly deposit for earned online affiliate commission programs and you die, would Commission Junction and your bank find out you are dead? Or would you just continue to receive the deposit every month and any authorized user of that bank account would have access to the money?

Is it any good or worthwhile? It's in my area this week and I was thinking of attending, but I want to hear if it's garbage before I committ. Sometimes these networking and "so called" educational seminars turn out to to be live infomercials trying to get you to buy something. Just want to see if Trumps was different and really does teach people something.

The location of this ordeal in in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

My friend noticed she had bedbugs 3 months ago and notified the landlord and the local health department. Health Department came and retrieved a sample and confirmed that indeed she was dealing with bedbugs.

Landlord told her they would come in and fog the house to get rid of them ( Anyone who spends 5 min researching Bedbugs would know foggers don't do anything!)

She lived with the bedbugs for about a month and a half and thankfully her lease was up so she decided to get out of there since the Lanlord wasn't doing anything.

The unit is a townhouse in a strip of 6. Several neighboring units also have bedbugs and have had them for awhile.

The landlord is not giving her her security deposit of 800 back claiming the costs of bedbug removal. They replaced the carpet stating it was necessary to eliminate the bugs and now states she owes an additional 300 bucks.

Can they charge her for the bedbugs?

I need to know if I can get a payday loan the same day? Is there a payday loan company that will do everything online, without employment verification etc...? I have had overdrafts, can I still get a payday loan? I have tried some places but get denied. I am thinking it's because of the overdrafts. However my checks never got sent back to the merchant they were all paid by my bank. Will using a no teletrack increase my chances?
I need a small loan 500.00 to get by and my credit is bad. I don't really have anyone to turn to in terms of borrowing money at this time such as family or friends. I would appreciate any help that can be given. Thank you

I would like to offer free basic cable and internet access to my tenants, but am unsure of any liability issues that may arise. If I were to contract with a local ISP, and personally route a few seperate connections to different units, would I be liable for any illegal activity that may be done on the network, as the account with the ISP will be in my personal name?

O.k today I get the report that the unemployment rate has reached 4.6 percent but for the most part of this year and last year, the unemployment rate has been at 4.5%. I mean for every single month it was 4.5 percent. Do you think they way they are calculating these numbers are suspect? It hasn't reached 5.0 or 4.2 it is almost always 4.5%.

divorced for 6 mos. & she's already remarried but telling my boyfriend his name won't come off until she refinances the loan. He's now worried that if she remarried within 6 mos. she might also flake out on the loan. What can he do? Wouldn't the new husband want his name on the loan where they are living rather than the ex??

A somewhat trivial question perhaps but i would like to have your opinion...

I have a former employee that left to try another work. As he did this he parted with telling everyone how good it should be to leave since he was tired of the work and that he was generally not pleased with how things had developed for him the last six months. After being at his new work for only four weeks he phoned me and was very regretful. He had gained insight (according to himself) that his old job was much better than he had believed. I met him to judge his sincerity, and I think he really menas it. So... I need someone like him and have a place for him, BUT what would you do?

I was contacted by a representative of REEI, there are so many scams out there, I'm not sure what to believe anymore. There website is at REEI.com. He claims that you work one on one with a mentor (only phone and email assess), they had a good rating in the BBB but they still seem a bit shady to me. The tuition is quite expensive (form $585-20,000). It seems strange that they would not have the same tuition for everyone. He mentioned using your credit card to get the money to invest and then doing a balance transfer on the amount if the deal is taking longer than a month. I don't feel safe about this strategy or the tuition amount. What's your opinion? Has anyone gotten mentored by them?

When you get cases like

Some guy sends his girlfriend a sexy email, or she sends one to him etc and it accidently gets broadcast ie send to all etc.

Why sack, suspend or even give a rats ***?

So they are in a couple and in love and mentioned what they are doing later tonight.

Surely a sign of a happy stable life outside work which should mean a less stressed employee better able to work.

So if things like this hit the news why does the boss just say to the press.

Oh grow up and get a life at least they have more of a life then you. Have you not got anthing better to care about like the war in Iraq, the flood victems or how young single pople cant afford homes.

As for should be working.

Emmn how lone did it take to read a 3 paragraph emial? 1 minute? half? like that weill make a difference... most likly perk them up like a dose of red bull.

As for embarrasing the company, give over like most married couples dont have a sex life, who cares.

why doesn't everyone join unions then have them campaign for wages to be linked to house price rises?

Every time house prices rise those without a house/mortage are effectively having a massive wage cut so surely wages should be measured in 'percentage of the average house price'

And all getting togther to force this union wise and restore final salary pensions.

As that way the workers get their fair pay for fair work not bosses in coccaine, prostitues and other luxuries they dont need
