Me & my wife bought our first business(a tiny 600 sqft neighborhood market that sells groceries, beer & wine and lottery). We don't have any employees. We just do it ourselves. The market is located in LA county just south of city of Los angeles. Should we hire a CPA to do our taxes and accounting or can we do it ourselves? Is it hard to do it ourselves? Is there a free help online or someplace so that we can do it ourselves? What should be careful about?

My ex-girlfriend and I have a loan on a $100,000 home, we have been split up and I've been out of that house for over 2 years, took my name off the DEED, but not the mortgage. I haven't made any payments on the property since then, she is filing for chapter 7. As the co-signer what will happen to me? Will they come after me or am I protected since she is filing for chapter 7?
Thanks in advance.

Right now I have 900 in my savings account, but tomorrow I get paid 250$ paycheck so I will have 1150$ I was thinking about taking a 1000$ CD for a year with a percent of 3.8%. Exactly what does this mean, and how much money will I make after the year is up?

I have an idea for a internet business which will require quite a bit of money to start, but I am sure it will make plenty of money. Where should I go to get this started? How can I make sure that even though I am not very well rehearsed in the internet technology, that if I share my idea with someone I will get paid.

The hospital claimed that I owed them money but never really sent me a bill. They were also told the truth, don't bill me because my mom is responsible for my bills. I see that they have put a mark on my credit. I want to dispute this. I wrote the FTC and filed a complaint against them. Is it possible to get this taken off my credit? How do I find out my credit SCORE for free? This is driving me crazy? Does the majority of the public have a perfect score or what is the normal score? I don't just want a free report, I want the score.

Due to some major issues I won't get into my credit has taken some major knocks in the past and now sits at a "fair" 621. We have great rental history, including a year and half in our current townhome paying $1000/month on-time every month and 3+ years in the apartment before that paying almost $900/month, on-time, every month. Now we're moving for a great job opportunity for me and I've found a great, 4 bedroom house at $1225/month.

My income will be more than 3x the rent, but the bottom of the application states "a credit score of 650 may cause application to be unacceptable. Management has the right to refuse this application if the credit check, employment verification or rental history do not meet our standards, or if another Applicant has better qualifications."

Now, I understand the concept that they have to pick and choose to whom to rent because they rely on us to make their livings, but I will always pay rent... Anyone in Property Management have an idea for me?

I want to get out of the corporate world and do my own thing. The problem is I make good money, so earning less than 6 figures will not cut it.
I am looking for creative suggestions....

Please note - the usual stuff probably won't measure up - I have tried...I am not good at sales, so I can't do MLM (I have tried a few times). I tried the secret shopper (poor ROI), and the paid surveys (also a poor ROI).
Adjunct teaching at the local college also doesn't pay much.
Am I stuck with Corporate America?

I just wanted some thought about interviewing with the same company again. I had an interview with a big 4 accounting firm a year ago but it did not go so well. It is a year later and interviews are coming up again. I am a college student about to graduate and the big 4 accounting firms usually do a lot of hiring in the fall. I am applying for other jobs also but I really want to work for the big 4. I plan on getting my CPA which hopefully would open the doors and increase my qualifications more.

Upon making an offer on this real estate property, we were told that our good faith deposit check would not be cashed untill the deal went through and that amount would be deducted off the asking price OR returned to us if the property failed inspection. So I wrote out a check for $500.00 dollars and handed it over to my buyers agent who in turn forward it over the the sellers agent for escrow holding. The property failed inspection so I let my buyers agent know that I did not want to pursue the property. She agreed, and I asked about the deposit check (if we can get it back now) and she said she will talk to the sellers agent. I just checked my bank account and the check was cashed. She told me that they wouldn't cash it, why was it cashed? Did she lie to me?? It's it a normal thing to cash these types of checks so quickly even though she said it wouldn't be cashed??? I am so angry right now I don't know what to do. It's midnight, and I feel like throwing stuff around the house.
