is the debit side, in a journal , in the left or right?

im a high school student trying to make a project... analysing transactions and then putting it in a journal....n pls help... help needed ... badly...

In a journal, debits are on the left, credits on the right. Assets and expenses are debits, liabilities and equity are credits. The attached links should give you some clarification.
