I found a $700 a month apartment in Brentwood, CA on Craigslist. For some reason I responded with interest, as much as I'm a believer that if it's too good to be true, than it is. I've check up and researched everything, especially the "Yahoo Real Estate" escrow service. It's perfectly clear that this is a scam, I wrote "Paula" saying I was not comfortable sending a $2100 Moneygram transfer, could it be Certified cashier's check instead? She responds

"I understand perfectly your concern but this way is
faster and if the confirmation is faster I also can
book my plane tickets and come quick .
I have received emails from an insistent person that
wants to rent my apartment and he insists even I told
him that I start the transaction with you.
If you will not confirm the transfer today so please
tell me so I will rent my apartment to someone else.
Thank you very much"

I think these people are complete scum and I want to give them a headache like they give. What shall I do?

Ok, we are renting a house and our lease isnt up until next June. The land lord moved out to California because his child was suppose to be in a movie or something. Well I guess that it didnt work out there because he wants to move back into this house. He wants to break the lease and kick us out by the end of the month. That is hardly enough time to find another house. We told him that if he did this we would need our entire security deposite back so we could get a new place. He said he would have to see the house and its damages first. That is rediculous! I feel we are doing him a favor!! On top of that he is already having his mail sent here and boxes fedexed for him here. He wants us to take it. On top of that I am pregnant and due Sept. 13th. I dont mind moving out but legally or something shouldnt he give us our whole security deposit back and maybe some more time to find a place. What can I do at this point? My fiance is soo scared to make him mad for some reason and I am fed up

I was turning at a yielding light. To my knowledge it was clear to go. however, while I was in my turn, a car from the opposite side was speeding and hit me on the side bumper and I hit him on the driver back sit. The police man did not give neither one a ticket. My insurance company is denying the claim but most likely their insurance will deny our claim so it will be taken to arbritration. How do you think this case will be handle?

I'm about to start looking for a new vehicle and also a new apartment. I've heard that when your credit report is looked up, this brings it down. I may be dumb for asking this question, but I'm probably about to have it checked several times within the next few days. It's already low enough, so I just want to make sure if this is true or not.

My wife and I are buying a home for around $210k in a rural town in VA. We went to a lender and were told that our interest rate would be about 6.5-6.8% and that it would be the same just about anywhere we went. We both have good credit (mid to upper 700's) and have a downpayment of $60k. The rate she quoted was for an interest only loan lasting 5 years. Given our good credit and downpayment, should we try to bargain for a better rate? Is this rate going to be the same every place we go? I just felt like she was trying to give us as little info as she could and making it seem like the rate she quoted us is our only option.

If the retirement age is, say 65 (not sure if that's accurate, just throwing it out there), can I retire earlier than that? Am I penalized? Does it depend on years of service to determine if you can retire early? I'm just asking because a lot of people at my work are retiring and it doesn't seem like they are old enough to be the legal retirement age. Thanks.

I understand the law of supply and demand, so that when more people want to buy, the price goes up and vice versa. But what makes people want to buy???

For example, I think Company A has a good idea for a product. Why do I buy their stock? Just in hopes other people will want it in the future and be willing to pay more for it?

Do dividends make a company more enticing to buy? Do all companies give dividends?

Is there a ratio between the stocks a company has and its earnings? Is this the P/E ratio? How do I interpret the P/E ratio? what are its units?

I made an offer on a property that was advertised as "fell out of escrow!" That was five days ago. My understanding was that once the buyer makes an offer, the seller has 72 hours to reply or counter offer. I was told today that it is still coming out of escrow. But its been listed for two and a half weeks. The real estate guy I'm working with is not the listing agent for the property. Does that make any difference?

My fiance is about to start a new job with a friend that started his own company under a year ago. I'm worried that he may not be making as much money if business is slow, and want suggestions on little things that can save money. I'm only 20 so I'm sure many of you older Moms have some great tips. Thanks!

So I listed a dresser on Craigs List and someone sent me a reply saying they wanted to buy it, but it just seems fishy because of all the typos and that he wants to send the money to my bank account. I said I only accepted cash but it seems that he ignored my request. These are his email:

Him: "Wow seller,
Beautiful funiture you pasted there, but just don`t know if its still available and down
for sell. Infact, its exactly my taste and choice. i will also want to know the exact amount selling it last....mean any deduction? and kindly let me know your mode of payment, and kindly never look for another buyer okay?
Thanks"

after this I told him it was still for sale and i only accepted cash then he sent me this:

him: "Hello seller,
Thanks for your quick response and sorry for my late reply.I suppose to come and see what i want to buy but due to my work i can not come am located at texas,And i have actually contacted my financier and promised to send you an instant cashiers check that has to clear your bank first before any pick up is made.Cos,as its obvious to us all that, bad ones have spoilt the good people,so has to wait till the check he wants to send you clear first.I will like to tell you that i have a shipping company that will be coming for the pick up..so,it could be taken into a thorough examinations and verification. In receipt to your mail,i will need your payment details to mail him as soon as possible.I need the following pls:

Name, full physical contact address and ther things consider vital.

Thanks and do have a blessed weekend....
