I had my car repossed years ago. I got my vehicle out of impound and paid the balance of the car loan off, this was approximately in January of 02'. The car is completey paid off how do i get the ding of the repo off my report??

Sorry, but it will remain for 7-years from the date you paid it off.

Every answer here is correct, but they failed to mention that you can have it noted that you paid the bill in full. If it's not noted then get it done. It won't increase your credit score but may make a difference in the way you are viewed by some lenders.

It will fall off after about 7 years.

You wait another two years for it to fall of due to age. It's part of your accurate credit history, and will stay there for approximately seven years after the settlement of the debt.
