I cannot find one reason people use credit cards instead of just paying cash. It appears to me that it is just playing with snakes, and even incentive cards have high interest rates and outrageous fees.

My fiance works for a company that only hires employees as contractors. As of this week they have started fining any one who doesn't show up for work $100 per day, or $20 per missed job on the route they would have gotten had they shown up, which ever is more. Is this legal? We live ohio, since labor laws may differ from state to state. Thanks if you can help.

I have purchased a house in Phoenix, AZ. When I had purchased it they were two families living in that. This house is a duplex I bought it like that. Each has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath the garage was converted to a room. I bought in 2005 "as it is". I had paid cash (took a home equity loan) I had tried to sell it over a year the buyers were not qualified. It was appraised for 245,000. Now I am renting it there only one meter to all and tenants are sharing the bills. The zoning for this house is a single family home, next to that there is an apartment complex, on the same street there is a big house with one acre and the owner divided it he sells the house with some land and the rest he sells the land. Am I going to be in trouble with the city because my house is a duplex? but I bought it like that. There is in laws quarters has small kitchen no stove and we are renting it- is it illegal? I am afraid to start it with a city and get myself in trouble. Any suggestions??? Some feedback?

Hello all, I have been a mural painter off and on for a few years and have finally decided to commit myself full time to this occupation. I would like to incorporate other design elements, such as general faux finishes, finishes for furniture, and room design. I would like to incorporate the word designs into the name, or something similar. I'm an aquarius, so that means I'm quirky and I'd like a name that reflects my personality, yet is also professional and draws the client. Can you help me??? Many thanks for your time....peace

I currently have an MBA (no specialization) and I work in Market Research as a project manager. I would like to eventually become a Director of Market Research within the next 5-7 years. I have been accepted into a Masters of Market Research program. I am still wondering if I should go through the program or not. Do you think it would help my career, or is my MBA enough to get into the position I want?

I am trying to leave my job as I dread going in every day, dont particulary get on with the people I work with and get little support in what is a very difficult and demanding job. My employer is aware I am trying to leave and I have applied for 5 different posts and am receiving interviews. However my employer is not writing favourable references and is concentrating on picking up on faults in my work during a short period when I was suffering domestic abuse and had a close family bereavement. I seem to be stuck.

We're first time home buyers and I don't know anyone in our area that's actually purchased a home - so I have no way to get a recommendation. Should I just check realtor.com until I run across someone that's particularly helpful? Is there particular well know real estate agents such as Century 21 or Remax that generally has a good reputation?

What would you recommend for finding a decent one?

I said "No" for the box that said "have you been convicted of a crime or have a pending felony", but I had a Minor in posession of alcohol when I was 19 (i'm now 23). It was just a misdomeanor, but I always thought that check box didn't apply to misdomeanors.

They made me sign an authorization to do a background check, and I'm sure they'll see the MIP. Will they care, or do they only care about felonies... in general?

And I don't have the greatest credit (which is why I want a job, to rebuild it and actually have money) and I don't see why they need to look at my credit to determine whether I'm a worthy candidate.

In general, do most companies judge by these things, even if you have less-than-stellar credit and a small misdomeanor?

I was the owner of a small business that just recently went under. I had $12,000 put aside for taxes this year on my business. I want to know what my options are so that I can use these funds and not have to pay the taxes on my business this year. Meaning, can I spend this put aside tax money to try another start up business and because those expenses are tax deductible, I I won't have to pay taxes this year on my last business (becomes a wash)?

my father recently sold my grandmothers business, and my dad and my mom and i all worked here, well, tuesday the new owners fired my mom and dad, but they kept me!?! and they fired my dad for the stupidist reason, one strike and he was out, they fired my mom (she was our delivery person) because their wife was going to start doing that, but they say they want me to stay on, do i? i feel like i'm being torn between a job where i really don't do anything, and loved doing, when my dad was here, and my father, i feel like i have to pick.!

help!!!!!

the ONLY reason they gave him was that he didn't give them his personal password for the email/internet account that he pays for out of his personal account, which the business used but did not own, and the new owner was saying that he bought everything to do with the business, which the contract was not worded that way, it was worded that he bought the building and equipment, an asset buy
