It started doing this a few months ago. I make sure I have enough money and even wait a few days so it's all processed {money transfers and whatnot.} Then I check the balance online and it says I have plenty of money. But when I slide it over at McDonalds or at the gas station or other random places, it says I got declined. So I check with my bank and they said they don't know why that is because I have money. I asked if something was wrong with the card but they checked it and said the card looks fine. It'll work sometimes, randomly, but I can never be sure if it'll work or not. I usually take out cash now if I want to buy something but if anybody else has had this problem, should I just insist on getting a new card or what else is wrong?

How do I do about figuring the cost basis for rental property that used to be a single family home. My wife and her ex husband bought the place in 1995 and lived there until 2000. They divorced and she got the house. We got married and began renting the house in 2001. How / where can I find information about figuring the cost basis when it began as a rental. We are selling the unit next week and the selling price is 120K more than they originally paid in 1995 so I was trying to get information on how to treat the taxes. I know capital gains are going to kill us, but we just put over 20K in the house repairing damage from the prior tenant who cannot be located. Need to know about how much to keep back to cover the tax liability before we invest the rest. Thanks

I live in Illinois. I want to buy products from drop shippers and wholesalers, but first I needed to get my sales tax ID. Before I could get my sales tax ID, I needed an EIN number. I got the EIN and then I got my IBT (Illinois business tax number/tax ID) but I will never have employees. Recently I got a letter from the IRS telling me how I should pay my taxes and when I should pay. Yet these directions are purely alien to me. Obviously, I know nothing of taxes and I do not really know what to ask here, but: if I have no employees and if I use my tax ID to buy from legitimate wholesalers and then sell those items on eBay, how should I pay my taxes? How much do I need to make to pay the IRS, more than 20,000 a year? Do I need to fill out a tax form every time I sell an item?

I want to avoid doing an inspection through the city. The last house I bought in Romulus MI, was a pain because the city got envolved with the inspection. I can do an inspection myself, not a problem, but I don't want the city envolved in the inspection process. How can I find out which cities get envolved, and which ones let you do your own?

I'm a first-time home buyer and decided to buy a home that is about to be built this fall. The basic price of it is $400,000. We've added $40,000 worth of options and upgrades. They offer 50% discount on options. I want to negotiate the price before signing the contract and I'm quite nervous since I haven't done this before. What would be an effective way to negotiate the price and how much discount is reasonable to ask for?

I have an RV that I would allow a company to either paint or place magnetic placards on the front, back and sides. I plan on driving cross country to visit all the National Parks and my RV will be seen by millions all over the US .

I have seen many vehicles that are painted with the sponsors logo, marketing brand, colors, etc. (eg., tobacco brands, Kinkos, stores, etc. ). I would like to do the same with my vehicle.

Can a bank "attach" or "garnish" my company's checking account without a court order if the company owes the bank money? It seems to me that if a court ordered garnishment is required for anyone else to get money out of my bank account without my consent, the bank would be subject to the same laws.

This is a CORPORATE bank account, not a personal one. And, if it matters by state, this occurred in Missouri.

I'm not cut out for criminal investigating and all the secret private agent stuff. What does this mean? If you are an accountant for the FBI are you automatically a special agent?

I am in the process of selling my flat which is a leasehold property. As such, I need a Licence to 'allow' me to sell the flat, but the management company are with-holding it despite all of their queries being replied to by me and my solicitor. As they are being so unco-operative, I have lost a sale and am in danger of losing another, along with lots of money!! Does anyone know where I can report them and get some sort of compensation? My solicitor is no help!!
