Yes - if your company has regulations or a company handbook, I would see what it says about employees getting a copy of their evaluations. If it states that managers are to give employees a copy of their evaluation, I would provide a copy of this regulation to your manager. If he still refuses, I would contact his boss. That being said, expect to have an unhappy workplace if you do battle with your manager. If it's really not that important, I would drop it. I'm guessing that your evaluation wasn't too great and that's why you want a copy - you may be on your way out anyway so I say go to war!

I think you ARE entitled to a copy, if one can have copies of their medical records, police records, report cards or any other document that pertains to them, why should a job evaluation be different? Go over the manager's head on this one, unless you'd rather not make waves or get on his/her bad side.

I don't think there's any law that says you are, but it's definitely standard practice to give someone a copy of their evaluation.
In some places there IS a law that you can have a copy of anything in your personnel folder, which is probably where the evaluation ends up.

I don't see why he would refuse to give you a copy of your job evaluation, but since he won't, go to the person above him or contact Human Resources for the evaluation.

Unless your State has a law requiring the company to provide it to you, then it is up to your company on wether or not to show it to you. You can either look through the material they provided you when you started, or call the corporate HR and ask them what the companies policy is. The may be vague or try to put you off, but they can't (legaly) directly lie and tell you the opposite of the company policy. If the company says they will provide it to you, then you boss HAS to.

Read you handbook (unless the company is too small to have one.) You should be allowed to see everything inside your file. As far as copies go I really do not know, but I will watch this question to find out.

Most states require an employee be allowed to view their personnel record. Your evaluation would be in your per. record. I agree with the gal that said to go to your HR rep.

I believe you are legally entitled to have a copy of your performance eval, since in most cases you are required to sign it. I would contact your HR department and request one.
Good Luck

Of course. What reason would they have to not give you one? Are they hiding something? I have always recieved a copy of mine or were able to look at it with them when my review was done. I would ask your managers boss about it or ask what reasoning they have not to give you a copy.
