We closed on the house last year in mid-May, and now they want to do an assessment for 2007. I know that whoever owns the house on 1-1-06 pays the taxes for the entire year. Are they refiguring for MY taxes now? I just don't get it.

my husband and i have three kids. we both work. i wasn't working previously and i just got a job and claimed one since he claimed me and our three kids on his. on his w4 he claimed 5. he obviously needs to change it since i am not a dependant of his since i have a job now. so does he claim the kids? he makes more money that i do so more taxes would be taken out? or should i claim the kids so the taxes are taken out of my check rather than his. and is it best to have money taken out of the check so you get it back or best to...well, i don't know the other options. filling out a w4 confuses me, although i can do our taxes!! ;o)

ok, so I have 1 misdeamenor on my record that I never was convicted of.I was in jail overnight, got bailed out a couple of weeks later I simply signed a paper, paid a $100 court fine and never heard about it again(this happened may of 2004). Ive had probably 5 different jobs since then and I recently got fired from my latest job after working there a month because I failed to disclose this information, but since I was never convicted in court for this Ive never put this on a job application. should I start putting this incident on my applications?

I worked a little bit in 2000 and have about $50 tax withheld that I never bothered to file for, and now I'm wondering if I could file to get that money, or if it's to late.

I am currently unemployed and I am in debt with the IRS thanks to my wife. If I owe the IRS money what can they garnish if i am unemployed??
My x-wife is a real estate agent and she's making little to no money, but has two expensive cars and a huge house....
If I can't pay and SHE doesnt will they garnish her cars?house?

I've worked in retail for a number of years and I'm sick and tired of small talk B.S. and I'm getting tired of "helping" customers. What kind of jobs are out there for people who just want to sit and do their work for their entire shift with little or no interaction with customers and/or coworkers. If that exists.

We recently moved into a brand new house that we had built and of course got a new phone number.
Apparently the person that had my new number ran up a hospital bill and gave a bogus address and the phone number I now have.
The credit companies call me continuously asking for this person. I tell them to stop call me a because I do not know her but they keep calling.

How do I get them to stop hounding me?

cervical cancer. Medicare didn't know. They said to ask my provider. I said, 'how will they know, if Medicare doens't know?'
I didn't get any response.

Then I was referred to the cancer society. Medicare said they would know. And they are closed till tomorrow.
In the meantime, does anyone know?

Who has the opportunities, (in the U.S.) to start/own your own business. I would like to start my own business. But in todays society I'm not sure that everyone has all the opportunities to do this. Do you need a degree, lots of money, good credit, and does ethncicity effect your chances, of getting the help and support that one needs from government programs, and other organizations? Rx pain pills that is (yes I know they are narcotics). I had been moving with a girlfriend all day long a few weeks ago. At the end of the day my body was hurting and tired. She gave me two of her prescription pain pills. I had to take a pee test within the next few days for a job offer. I have taken many pee tests in the past and they were checking for illegal substances. When did they start testing for Rx?
The urine test for the job showed the pain pills. Now I might not get the job. H.R. is deciding what to do with the situation right now.
I understand that the pills were in my friends name and I cannot prove the prescription is mine. I admitted to that. Should I be denied this job because of this situation?

I did not receive last month's electronic bill-pay reminder from Citibank, and consequently I was late paying my bill, because, naturally, I forgot. When I contacted Citibank to ask about the missing reminder, they told me that my reminder bounced back either because: a) my box was full, b) the e-mail was treated as spam by my mail server, or c) the mail server was undergoing maintenance at the time. I know that options (a) and (b) are not the cause of the problem, and (c) seems highly unlikely. Citibank is charging me the late fee and will not negotiate. I pointed out that there must be thousands of YAHOO users affected by this issue, and they would not respond. So, I would like to hear from anyone who is in the same situation as me. Thanks so much.

I want to put the money back into the IRA that I borrowed from it.....I trade the stock market with that money and don't want to deplete the account. I don't have to pay the penalty because I'm 60....I just need to borrow from the account temporarily.
