Your statement comes out every 30 days, your account is active day by day, so if you overdraw they send you a notice in the mail. it arrives a day or two after you overdraft. Keep better track of your day to day account balance. The overdraft is posted the day after you have overdrawn.

The reason you would receive an overdraft charge when your statement shows a positive balance is if a check tried to clear that was for more than the balance in your account. As an example if you had a balance of $10.00 in your account and a check for $50.00 tried to clear, that check would be returned and the bank would charge you an overdraft fee. The fee would then put your account in the negative. A notice should have been mailed out if the bank returned a check.

the first place to check is to call your bank & ask why there is an overdraft charge. then if you are not satisified, then write a complaint letter following the policy & procedures outlined by your bank.
