I have already listed my home with a realtor so please NO responses indicating I should. We are now going to try to sell our home ourselves. I have already looked at FSBO.com as well as a few other sites. The legal aspect seems confusing so I think we will hire a real estate lawyer (unless someone can give me a better understanding of what to do with the documents you can download). My question is once I have a buyer (fingers crossed) how do I deal with my exsisting mortgage? Do we pay that off before the deed is changed with the profit or does it get paid off after? Do I contact them or does the lawyer handle all of that? Is that an extra document? Any help on the LEGAL aspect of selling my home and the exsisting mortgage would be great. I all ready know about the listing, advertising, and setting my price end of it.

I've been offered a new job in finance. However, the position is pentending my credit and background check. I once got fired from a job, but it was done for unlawful reasons. But, I never pursued legal action. Will that effect my chances at getting the job.

Secondly, I have poor credit. I don't believe I even have the ability to get a credit card, although I haven't tried. I do have a car payment that is up to date and in good standing.

How bad does you credit have to be, in order to be denied a job?

My credit is between 580 and 602 but I have no open debt. I keep getting turned down because I don't have any revolving accounts. I can't afford to pay for a secured card. I only want a credit card to build my credit back up. Please only honest answers, no smart asses.

Well I recently qualify for Sec 8 and found out alot of owners dont accept it. It made me wonder why so I did some research on yahoo answers. Now I know and it sucks that they may think all section 8 tenants are bad and irresponsible. I'm not one of them and Im here to prove you wrong! Rent is paid on time. Im responsible, and i dont destroy property. Did i grow up in a gang, violent neighborhood? HELL NO. Am I educated? Well I guess I could say I am since i'm in college, under 20 and i dont plan to have freaking babies. You may not be convinced until you meet one. On the other hand I'd like to say that those BAD tenants are really really stupid. However too bad homeowners havent met good responsible tenants. I'm sure they are out there.

Now share your experience with Sec 8 tenants

I have been staying home with my children for seven years while they've been young. Now, I'm trying to take my previous work experience, my BA and graduate school education, & recent volunteer experience and apply for some really entry level part-time jobs. I can't even get a call back. I have easily applied to 400 jobs in the last six months! Some volunteer jobs require references. To sub you have to take a personality test, which I did. But it is unbelieveable to get a job now. I just want a job to get my foot in the frickin' door. Any ideas? I'm taking prereq to go to nursing school and get a second BS in nursing. Ideally, I would like a job or volunteer position in health care. Strangely, this is hard to come by. Thoughts?

I'm an instructor at a college in Florida. A recent graduate from my university emailed me and asked me that question. Basically, she wanted to know what does she do if she has her degree but has no work experience. She claims that she has been on 5 interviews in various fields and that each of them seems to have gone well. However, she never gets a call back. She hasn't tried to apply for a position in her field of study yet. She claims all the jobs require a degree AND 2-3 years work experience. I told her to apply for an internship, and say that she'll even work for free for a month just to counter the lack of experience. She seems to be displeased with that answer and I want to provide her with positive feedback. Yet, I'm sorta lost on whatelse to say other than, try and find a related field, work for cheap if you need to, then apply for other positions elsewhere. If you were in my position, what would you tell her? What other ideas could you suggest?

I purchased a few stocks a while back and they are now too cheap to sell. Their value is so small that my online broker will not allow me to sell them, since the revenue would not cover commissions. Is there a way to get these off of my portfolio?

My husband has $20,000 in debt in occurred before we got together.12,000 of it is past due things he has stopped paying on, the other $8,000 is his car. I want to sale the car and get a junker for $1,000 or so. Then get a personal loan under my name because I have good credit and pay off the $12,000. We will take the money we would normally use on his car insurance (a junker will be a lot cheaper) and car payment towards the new loan. Is this the best way to go about it? Any advise?

I was just informed that I had to have direct deposit per company policy, yet no one in my office knew of that. I was told that through the payroll company that we go through it costs more for people who don't have direct deposit then for those who do. And since that is the case it is policy to have it. I use to have direct deposit but I left for a few months and when I came back I didn't want direct deposit. ( I am wanting to change banks, and I want to research the best options. But it isn't the first priority on my list.) I received a regular check my last two paydays and the upcoming one will also be a regular check but after that I will be getting direct deposit again. Can they really do that?
