I am SO neurotic! Most people would have just thrown this away by now or paid it, but I really would like advice!
IN July of 2004 (3 years ago now), My band was renting a rehearsal studio for 400 bucks a month with a 200 dollar deposit.
We did not give notice, when we left, however, we did clean the place up very nicely, and left the deposit. They sent out a letter in December '04 saying..."you have failed togive proper notice and your security deposit of $195 only covers one half of themonth's rent. Please send a money order of $195 to the address above ASAP. ..." Blah blah blah we'll ruin your credit, and they do have my social security number on the contract.
The contract clause he is citing states This lease is a month-to-month agreement. Tenant must give four (4) weeks notice in writing within the first five days of the month, prior to moving out or will be held financially responsible for any money lost by ...us during that time".

I'm 20 and I'm not sure how the car loan process works. If I get a loan from my own bank.....and let's say I want to have 20K for a car...with a 2K down payment....where does that play into my loan? Do I give that 2K to the dealer and get the rest from my bank? Or do I give the down payment to the bank?

Okay so I'm working on my credit and it's not great so every point is important b/c I want o buy a new car in Sept. I've had a regular Target card for over 5 years and today in the mail I get a letter saying I've been chosen to have my account upgraded to Target Visa with a much higher credit limit. They say my balance will just be transfered. If I don't respond to the letter this will be an automatic switch. Has this happened to anyone else? Will this hurt or help my credit score?

recently slipped and banged my head.
CT scans show no fractures or bleeds.
However i get very dizzy, with the dizziness comes a loss of balance, this has prevented me from working.
I have seen a neurologist and she tells me i have post concussive syndrome, it is 4 months since i fell.
Headaches are better but dizziness, balance and speech problems remain.
The insurance is dealing with my case and will be making me an offer, does anybody know what kind of offer i should expect.
I live in Montreal.
Insurance has covered my loss of earnings up to date.
I had whiplash with the fall and am left with pains in my shoulders and neck, i take painkillers for this.
I asked the physician how much longer this will last, both him and the neurologist said it could take months.
Has anybody had to go through a claims process with concussion and post concussion.
Please tell me your storys.

I got hired at American Eagle (YES!), and the manager told me taht the schedules had already been printed for this week, so they are going to call me later in the week to let me know when my orientation (4 hours) is. I have a child that I am used to claiming the child tax credit. I also am used to filing head of household. Do we still file one of us as head of household whether we file jointly or seperately? Currently, he is only going to school full time. I work part-time, and will be going to school part-time this fall..not sure if that makes any difference.

My fiance's ex-wife's daughter from a previous marriage has been filing head of household for at least a few years (I'm really not sure how long exactly) and she is 21. She does work, but his ex lives in low income housing with her 21 year old daughter and their 8 year old daughter they had together. His ex is 43 years old and has not held a job in about 3 years for no reason in particular, basically because she doesn't want to. Her daughter is bringing in the income. He is going through a divorce now, which will be final next week and he will be able to claim their daughter every other year. However, the 21 year old daughter has been claiming her on her taxes by filing head of household. Is she allowed to do that? I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know! Thanks!

I had my car repo'd in nov 06. The settlement was way too much for me to come up with along with the payment plan. They decided to take it to court now for 9500 bucks. I would rather have them take it out of my paycheck then my joint bank account. Is that possible?? Would they go after my wages before my checking account?
