Other than looking for a homeless person, 150 dollars isn't exactly life changing alone (and from what I understand some are just pretending to be that destitute to rip people off). The best place to give away $150 dollars is a local "charity". Anything from little league baseball or girls softball to a local soup kitchen could make good use of that kind of donation, especially when put together with donations from others. Personally if I felt like I should give away something I would put it in the back of my wallet and wait. I remember a year ago or so I was approached by a young couple with a young child asking for gas money to finish getting home. I believed their story but didn't feel like I was in the position to give them anything at that time. I've been watching my pennies since being downsized a couple years ago myself. I felt terrible about it afterwords, a couple dollars wouldn't have killed me. It would have been great to have a c-note in the back of my wallet to hand them. In the end, the decision is a personal one.

I would find a local children's hospital or shelter and give the money to them. Children cannot help the hand that they have been dealt and they did not ask to be in the situation they may find themselves in (abandoned, born to drug addicted parents etc). That is what I would do as that has been what my husband and I have done since college with our extra money. Now parents of four children it is harder to come up with lots of extra money but there is no greater feeling than knowing that your hard earned money is able to help a child in need.

If you send it to me, I'll buy 2yr. stock-option of exxon with it. When I sell them, I take 40% of the profit and give the capital plus 60% of the profit to any charity organisation you want.

That would pay off the remaining balance on my Visa. If you can find me, I will accept any donations you care to make.
