Would you invest the money, if so, with who and how (Funds, stocks, etc), or would you buy an investment, such as Real Estate, property, etc, if so where and how would you go about it?

Recently I am finding that HMRC are seeking to class any company they can as associated for Tax purposes, even when it is blatantly obvious to all concerned that the company has not been set up as a vehicle to avoid tax. Many companies fall foul of what I consider to be poorly drafted legislation in this area.

So I have some money saved (around 40k) and right now I have it sitting in a Certificate of Deposit--- it will become available in a few weeks and I want to invest at least 50% of that money. However, I am confused. Where do I go? I want a reputable company (person) to handle my money --- I worked very hard for it and sacrificed a lot in the process of saving and I want it to grow not deplete. What sort of investments should I look at? What are the fees and taxes involved in investing? i am kinda clueless when it comes to this but I understand the concept as a whole (I took a few finance classes).

I am looking for a loan on a new home and applied over the phone. The application taker made no mention of a credit card and did not ask if I would be interested in a credit card. I was approved for the loan, but still have not signed or agreed to anything. A couple days later a credit card for this company shows up. I actually had to call and close the account because it was in fact open and did show on my credit report. Is it legal for a company to do this without my consent or knowledge? If not where do I report them? I am pissed

Hi guys,
I am from delhi; I did my B.Com graduation and done 6 months course Diploma in Software Technology too. Now i am pursuing MBA(IT)--distant education with sikkim manipal univ. also.

Please guide me, i am not interesting in accounts.
Then tell me, which type of job are available for me in IT/Computers. I am well versed in typing (45 WPM) and enough programming languages also(C, C++, ASP, HTM, CSS, Oracle(basic) etc....)

Can anybody help me out in this regards....

I just bought a house and have a loan for about 85% of the appraised value of the house. Is there a way of getting around mortgage insurance if you owe more than 80% of the value of the house? Thanks!

I made some errors with my credit when I was younger. I have been doing great at keeping a good credit history now that I'm more mature and understand the importance of credit (last 3 years). However, my old mistakes are still hunting me. I read somewhere that it can take 7 to 10 years for a bad entry in your credit report to be dropped. Is there a way I can remove those sooner?

I remember hearing once that a debt after a certain amount of years, is moot. Does it depend on the state where the debt occurred or you current state of residence?

I heard that collection agencies that specialize in buying old debts, to try and collect on, HATE for people to know about these laws. Where does one look up information about this? And what exactly does one do to bring it to the attention of the collection people, that you are no longer obligated by law to pay on such an old debt?

I am leasing an apartment right now and my lease is up at the end of June. I am also looking to buy a house, which I am not having very good luck with. If I sign a year lease and I find a house within that time, can I cancel the lease. Have it not look bad on my record and still receive my deposit back?

I have a job interview today and I am terrible with asking the interviewer questions? Does someone have some good examples for me. I always think the questions should pertain to the position and the interviewer, in my opinion, always gives me such detailed information I never have anything else to ask.

I have no investment savings because of dead-end jobs closing or down sizing. I would like to know how much I need to save monthy to have $100,000 in 5 years. YES 5 YEARS. I would like advice not only in the area of investments BUT how much would it take EACH DAY in quarters to save $100,000 IN 5 YEARS? I was trying to put my finance in order. I called People Life Insurance and got Monumental. They claim I have a loan on these policies. I said I never received a bill from Monumental.
From People Life Insurance I received letter stipulating that these polices were fully paid and never heard from them again. I have a complaint with the company. better business bureau and the US post office. What else can I do?
