i work in a factory, and i work 3 shifts days, nights and afternoons, i am on £5.80 p/h for that and the company don't pay shift allowance as 19years ago some people (who do not work there anymore) signed an agreement saying that they are willing to give up the shift allowance instead of something else (i don't think it was to do with money) so as there are no members of staff there anymore who signed that contract can we force the company to scrap it, because bringing £180 p/w home is crap for three shifts, p.s i live in the UK

The US government gives immigrant business owners a 5 year tax break. Most businesses pay %50 of their profits in taxes. Many of these immigrant business owners sell the business to a family member and they are also given a 5 year tax break. If I as an American started a business...any business...landscaping, small store, nail salon, I would make half the money a immigrant would. My question is: should this continue or should this be a topic for the 2008 election?

We are setting up an internet store in California. My partner told me that if we ship within California, we have to charge sales taxes according to the ship-to address' County tax rate -- instead of the tax rate of the County we are located (they differ by as much as 1%) Is this true? Can you please point me to an official publication I can reference, since this is a business and cannot afford to make a mistake.

I am a single man owing a house with another single man. Can I force a sale of the property, and if so can I gain the entire down payment that I put down on it? The other man wants to let his brother live in our house, which I oppose. I paid off the debts of the man who lives with me in order to qualify for the mortgage. I put down $42,000 on the home. He put no money down on the home. I do not want his brother or anyone else to live in our house. He is insistent to allow his brother to live here. I did not sign up for that arrangement and want out. I want my down payment and to sell the house. He thinks I cannot do this, but an attorney I talked with said that equitable distribution laws would allow me to force the sale, even if I had to sue my partner. Most everything in the house was purchased by me, as well as things I owned before I met him. Does anyone have any credible information on how this is handled? I only want my down payment back and the things that I either had or bought

Hi, I and my brother inherited some land that is in CRP (conservation reserve program). They payment they give each year is about 9,500$, for both of us as its in a trust. We already paid 2.500$ in property taxes. I was wondering if we had to pay oe even file an income tax return, as it is our only income. I know the low income exemption is 8,450$, but does anyone know if my situation is different. I don't know where else to ask, except an accountant, which I can't afford. Thanks very much for any help.

My husband and I have entered into agreement with his sister who is power of attorney for her mother in law. Her mother in law owns house. I drew up agreements best I could. 1. Agreement for deed 2. Lease to purchase agreement 3. Lease. They were all filed at county courthouse. Along with the power of attorney. Agreement is for $50,000. no $ down, just $400. a month and I pay all taxes as of agreement. Agreement is for 10 years, no interest. She pays for all back taxes with lease to purchase payments. How will we transfer ownership/File Deed when her Mother in law has passed away? Thanks for any help.
