This does not smell good. Even the worst loan companies don't ask for a "deposit". This is either a scam or a fully secured loan. Most likely a scam (from what you've said)...

Run away as fast as you can......

I have never used Altimax Financial however after getting scam by a company call mitsuko lending. They approved me for a $20,000 loand with 6.5% interest. I was shocked due to my poor credit, however i needed to make a payment for insurance on my loan. They said kind of like a good faith payment, after 6 months of making my payments on time I would be refunded my good faith payment. I was to wire the money through money gram and once the payment was verified my loan would be wire to my bank account. I made the payment of $2700 and thats when the problems started to occur. First I was told my payment was received late i would have to wait 48 hours. After that It was excuses after excuses, I asked for a refund and now 5 weeks later no refund and there telephone number is no longer in service. I've learned the hard way. Unforunately I'm financially in a worse spot then before. If they ask for money up front its a scam. Beware of this company

Sounds fishy to me. You may want to check with the State Attorney General to see if there are any actions against this company or the Department of Commerce of the Government.
