Sharon, I am sorry to inform you but absolutely not is the answer to your question. The only way a company will consider accepting a partial payment is if you already have communicated with them and they have agreed to accept the partial payment. Otherwise, you still owe what you agreed to pay back in full. Even if the company does agree to accept partial payments, they can go back and change that agreement anytime. Therefore, if you are realizing tough times the absolute best thing you can do is to communicate clearly with the loan company about what is going on and keep them informed so that maybe they can work out some financially beneficial options for you until your situation improves.

No, actually, you probably owe them more now because of late payment fees and interest.

They don't have to accept a partial payment, and sending back a partial payment does not mean that you don't owe them the money any more. It just means that they are trying to hold you to the contract that you signed with them.

I doubt your contract states that you can just make partial payments instead of full payments.

They have a right to refuse a partial payment.

most likely you have a set amount you may send a month( this is used to milk entrest out of you) and you either sent above the amount or below it
