I am working at Target, and they offer a 401(k) plan. I am only 16 and am only expecting to make about 8-900 dollars this summer, and I may continue working through the school year, but will not be making much money. My dad says I should put 5% of my profits into a 401(k), but I do not know if it is worth it, being only about $40, and not being able to use that money for another 44 years. Thank you!!

My girlfriend has 3-4 things onher credit report that are from hospitals/doctors. At the time of the billing she WAS covered with insurance but didn't physically have her insurance card available. She gave them the information in order to have it billed. We recently got a letter from the insurance company stateing that she did in fact have insurance at the time. My question is what is our next step? Do we write the credit bearues in dispute or the collection accounts or hospital..how do we get this cleared? Thanxs in advance

I co-signed to help a friend purchase a motorcycle. He is still paying it off but has made a few late payments (over 30 days) and this is displayed negatively on my credit report. Can I get these accounts removed or is that part of what I signed my life away for when I co-signed to be a guarunter (sp.)?

I often pay my credit card mulitple times during the month instead of making one big payment when the bill is due. If there is a balance due for the statement, I always pay it on time. I was just wondering if there's any negative aspect to paying my credit card multiple times during the billing cycle? Thank you.

We have some emergency expenses that need to be handled in the next couple of weeks that our outside of our normal budget. We don't have any credit cards, and we're trying to avoid any major credit commitments since we will be closing on a new house next month. Also, we don't have perfect credit. It's not awful but not great either. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

balance off and the money cleared you bank accout? I made an electronic payment for balance in full on my account 10 days ago. The money cleared out of my checking account 2 days after the payment was made, and the bank has a hold on my account for some reason that no one can explain to me why.(It is a well known larger bank) I have never been late in the 2 years I have had the card, no problems what so ever. Can they hold my account like this? If not what can I do about it?This has never happened before, and all the reps can tell me is that there is just a hold on it and there is nothing they can do.

I make $500.00 a week, my wife ,$400.00 a week ($900 a week). 35% goes for taxes, fed, state , med, ss and all the other taxes for earning money. So I have 65% of spending money< WRONG. I buy ciggeretts or beer 100% tax = 25 bucks for cigs and 5 bucks a 12 pk of beer. I buy gas to go to work to pay taxes 100%, I don"t have a write off. I buy anything 7% Sales tax right off the top. I own a house 10% of what I make. For my car plates here is another 1.5%. My phone bill, look at yours it is like 20%. In my house loan I have paid more for property taxes than I origanaly paid for my house. Taxes should not have no write off s. for the rich man, his life shouldn't be excemt. So i'm 18 now, and I want to start making money, working, and learning the value of the dollar. My only problem is what sort of job do I pick up? I've never worked so i have no experience, it wouldn't make sense to jump into something difficult. I'm not a very social person in general, and I mean shy in public, when i say that, but I think i would manage with having to deal with people on a daily basis quite well regardless of that. I just don't want to start with a grocery store job, I want somethign reasonable in a nice environment. I've been considering several book stores such as borders, but how willing would they be to hire someone who has no experience? Any suggestions on an appropriate job? I would rather NOT be on a register, but if that is what i must do , then so be it.

I'm 20, been in the Air Force for almost two years. I hate my career field, it's made me despise people. It would be very hard to cross train into a different field, because my is critically manned. Anyways, I have no idea what I want to do when I get out, (go to school yes), but for what job...I don't know. I've been trying to figure this out for years. I feel stuck, because my current "job" has great perks, but I have no heart in my field. I work hard and with pride, but I'm not happy. I don't want to get out and get a crappy job and say I used to do something better than I am now........I don't know what to do.....I'm not happy and I need some advice please. I have no problem finishing up my enlistment in good standing, I just don't know what to do after that...

I have been turned over to ASG and through some research, saw that sometimes certain agencies will take full payment and agree to remove the account from all 3 major credit reporters. I originally offered them $700 out of $1100, and they said sure, if I could pay by the next day. I could not. I know it is possible to negotiate, but has anyone had any real luck or advice?

How much money is taken from your paycheck in taxes? I know it's different in different states and depends on what you put on your tax forms for allowances, but I'm trying to figure out what my take home pay will be for a job that pays 10 an hour, working 20 hours a week. Thanks.

If All inheritance was taxed at the same rates as salaries and wages, the average working person would only need to pay about half what they pay now (for the government to have the same revenue) Some say it isn't fair. I've heard all the arguement. "its double taxation". Well so is sales tax, import tax and property tax. The simple way to avoid paying it: spend it wile your alive, and give people who actually work for a living a break.

I work at this rehab place. Its like a group home. I get paid 8/hr. One of my good friends works here also. She is almost 8 months pregnant. We have a big inspection coming up on Mon., Tues., and next Tues. They want us to deep clean everything and i mean everything. My friend can't be around the chemicals and they don't care not one bit. They expect us to do so much and what we do i think we should get paid more than 8/hr. I wanna look for another job but im trying to stick it out until Jan when i go back to school. Im not telling them im going back to school because the last time they tried to stop my friend from going and when u ask to b parttime the get mad and still schedule us fulltime. They dont tell us nothing. The clients complain saying that we dont feed them enough on wkends and when i told the cook what we do she says that we are overfeeding them Most of them are supposed to be on watch for their weight. Should we sit and wait it out or continue looking for a new job. Help

I've just finished my first year of college and now am back home for the summer. I really need to make money so getting a job is crucial. But at the same time I want a job that I will really be able to enjoy and benefit from. I've done fast food jobs before in the past a really don't see myself going back to something like that. My majors are International Business and Spanish and I'd like to find a job that might allow me to advance my Spanish speaking abilities (I'm fairly fluent right now) as well as enhance my knowledge of the business field. Plus I'm sure it would look great on my resume if I have experience working with my two majors. Does anyone know of any good jobs that I can look into?
