I used to work for wal-mart as an assistant manager, and I just recently received a check in the mail for nearly $700, as part of a settlement they are saying was due to me being underpaid. Now I know there were issues in the past about this, but I have heard nothing recently about Wal-Mart owing anyone any money for working. My wife works for a bank and says the check looks like a fraudelent one, where they send you a check, you spend the money, then owe the bank whatever the amount was simply because the check was bad. I went to the site provided by the company that sent the check, and this is what I get http://www.dol.settlement.wal-mart.com/ . Looks more to me like an easy way to steal my identity. What's your opinions/thoughts?

Do I need permisson from the person who owns the condo I rent? I rent directly through owner. Do I have a right to give my two cents about something involving the complex? Also If I can attend, how do I introduce myself?" Hi I am (My name) and I am representing (landlords name)." Or do I say," Hi I am(my name) and I am her in proxy of ( landlords name). What is the proper way? Maybe I am not correctly using the "in proxy" term? It confuses me. Can someone help me please? I don't want to sound dumb and embarrass myself. I am an educated woman. I want to be politically correct.

I couldn't find my key to my apartment. It was three in the morning, I had no emergency number, and no one with a copy of the key. I had a crowbar in my trunk, so I pryed the door open. It broke the deadbolt out of the door, and split the wood pretty bad. How should I explain this? Is this terribly bad? Also keep in mind that I haven't paid my rent yet, and have been later with my rent every month for the past few months. Suggestions?

ok, so the night manager at work, apparently likes me. I talk with him a lot and we hold some interesting conversations while at work and people make fun of me for it, but I've just ignored them.
well, now I'm starting to realize that he favors me a lot at work and will do things like give me more tip money than other people (we have a tip jar that we split at the end of the night). and he'll always ask me if I want to stay or go home early for whatever reason, but he wont ask others, he'll just send them home when he sees fit.
just little stuff like that is starting to bother me. I don't think it's fair and I don't know how to confront him.

Alright, so I am covered under my dads company insurance for health and dental. He has insurance by Aetna, and I was planning on moving out soon. So, I was wondering, if I go to school full time at the local community college, as I have been for the last year, will the insurance policy still cover me even though I don't live with the parents anymore, but I would still be in school full time.

Looking to move into a new condominium complex. They are asking $302,000 for a 2 bed/2bath 1241 sq ft in gated community *(by NJ standards not bad at all for new). I am trying to see if there are indeed standards in negotiations as this is my first home. Some things to consider : This "luxury" gated community is located in a not-so-luxury part of New Brunswick,NJ , but close enough to a booming downtown district with theaters and fine restaurants...but seriously out of place in general. Secondly, they have "plenty" of units available, which leads me to believe they are not selling so quickly.

So is there a standard percentage to go by or am I stuck paying full value here? What do I have to go by...what kind of research should I do as there is no comparable complexes in the area
