I have contacted various UK brokers and insurance companies for a buildings and contents insurance for a residential garage which is not attached to my property.

Purchasing garages on their own have become very popular, however there does not appear to be any process in place for insurance cover.

I have noted a similar question which someone has provided an answer, however so far no insurance company or broker has a strategy in place for such a cover.

With Social Security slowly going under and the cost of living going up, I'm beginning to think about retirement and how old I should be when I start to invest. I'm just entering my twenties and it seems like the distant future, but as we all know, you should be prepared.

I've asked some of my "more mature" co-workers and they said that investing now would be wise, while all my friends say to live life and worry about it later.
I would like to know what you think. Should I invest now or later? How should I invest? Any tips?

My friend is moving out of rented property as the landlord has sold the property. She has had to find another property to move into, but has now been told that she won't get her deposit back for 2 weeks after she moves out. Obviously she needs her deposit to put down on her new rented property.
Any advice??

I'm inquiring about starting an IT business. I want to sell whole systems, i am young (like 17) and I have a few certifications (CCNA and A+). Now, I am wondering about wholesale. What is involved with gaining a wholesale account at an IT wholesaler? Is it just you sign up and get parts wholesale? or do you pay a yearly fee? By the way, Im in Australia if that makes any difference.

Who's idea was it to hold this Pageant in Mexico especially when there is so much tension between the two countries. Call me paranoid but I feel someone is playing with people's emotions.

This scandal put the pageant again in the spotlight.

I went in to my bank for a loan, and the sales-person tried to sell me 'benefits' of their loan over other banks (I'd seen Northern Rock seem to be the cheapest) I always thought that cheapest was best, but does anyone know of what sort of features I might find useful, and is it worth paying extra? (I think my quote was 8.3% which seems substantially more than Northern Rock.) Thanks for your help!

My job is only part time, and I get paid minimum wage. However, as I am only a teenager, I figure that at least I'm lucky to have a job right before the start of summer, only,I didn't go into work yesterday. Not on purpose, though. I don't even know if I had work since I entered the date and time in to my cellphone as an allday event, so I'm not sure if I really did miss work, or if I have to go in today. It's one or the other.

My boss doesn't like his employee's to be late since it's a small family business, so I'm a bit worried about what to do since wednesdays are normally busy, and if I did have to go in yesterday but didn't, than he'll be even more upset.

Can anybody give me advice on what to do, or say, to my boss if it turns out that I did miss work, and maybe a subtle way to find out whether or not I did miss it before I go in to work today? Thanks!

Will be interesting to see how many, if any, 'sensible' answers to this one?
I have been paid a pension, net, in this tax year, 2007/8,.I have been issued PAYE code for 2007/8 but after the payment was made. Will I get the tax already deducted repaid by the pension provider or will I have to wait for a rebate from the dearly beloved tax man?

One of my checks were stolen. I don't know when or how. I keep them in a safe place so I thought. However I PERSONALLY know the person who stole it. This person has done it before to other family members but nothing has ever been done. However I don't want to take this sitting down. I am a single mom and although the money is not alot at this time. what if this person finds my checks again and tries to take me for more money. what happens to them? What do I do? Do I go to the bank? U can obviously see that this is NOT my signature.... (not sure why the bank would cash it either) But do I call the police? I'm very confused and not sure how to go about this. I've been scraping by with no "real job" as in employed for a few years now. I live in the western suburbs and getting employed is not working out real well. Right now what I want is to have a simple and good paying job with sensible hours and that are good with their employees. I'm done looking through the internet for job openings. Currently have become a designated gofer for frineds and family. I can handle mundane tasks as long as they are not overly techical and I can handle manual labor.

When I file my tax at the end of the year, I am sure I'll get a decent chunk back in refund. Instead of getting a refund, how can I go about getting more of my money per paycheck as suppose to paying more during the year and getting it back later. People say doing so is like lending money to the government for free. I just need more cash during the year with the additional expense. Thanks for the advise.information!
