I am renting an apartment and my A/C has been leaking coolant for the past several months, since about February. I've put in several maintence requests and maintenance has come to fix it immediately.
The thing is that they always do the same thing over and over again, and the solution last for a few days or weeks. It's really annoying because it leaks constantly and causes puddles in my bathroom. Last time, I had to throw out about 7 gallons of the stuff when I put a plastic tub underneath it. I feel like they're not doing enough to solve it and are just kind of being lazy about the whole thing. Turning off the A/C is not really an option because I have other roommates to consider and we live in Texas where the heat is unbearable. Also, our complex requires us to have the A/C on 24/7. So, are they breaking the lease by not actually fixing the problem? Since Feb. the longest time it hasn't leaked was for a month. All the other times, it stopped for less than a week.

I either want to be a theoretical physicist or a roboticist.

I have great interest in electronics, physics, maths, programming, and robotics. I kind of want to do both but then can I get phds in both at the same time? Because I don't want to be 90 years old when I have finished university. I really don't know much about careers.

I heard being a theoretical physicist wont get me that much money, but I have a real passion for that sort of stuff.

Anyone know something about careers that can tell me something?

I have £270K in cash and investments, and £30K in a pension. I do not own a property (so I rent). I'm 35 years old. I live in Hampshire, UK. I have no dependants or partner, and it is unlikely I will have children.
Am I wealthy enough to retire yet? What sort of lifestyle would I have if I did so.
How much more money would I need to have a decent "retirement" on, say, £15K per year index linked for life?

I am a newly graduated nurse, in a new graduate nurse program, but the ward I am on is highly specialised, and I dont feel that I have the experience and knowledge to work in this ward. Ive not even had alot of nursing experience!
The hours are long, and its boring (compared to other wards). I am just so unhappy, and its spilling over into my personal life.
I just worry if I quit that it will affect my career, but if I stick it out (4 more months) Ill go insane, and end up on Prozac.

I have applied for another job in another hospital, so my thinking is, if I can get another job, then it should be ok, if Im honest about my reasons for leaving??

Thanks

My $50K back tax debt to the IRS has been classified as "currently not collectible" for the past two years. I recently won a Disability settlement from Social Security and received a check for 4 1/2 years of back SS Disability payments (FYI: I am no longer disabled and am now working part-time). What I wanna know is, can I open a new bank account (I don't presently have one) and deposit the lump-sum SSA check without having some kind of alarm go off at IRS HQ which results in their hoovering that account dry the second it clears? I fully intend to use a big chunk of the money to work out some kind of payment or offer in comprimise plan with them, but I need to be able to use some of it for urgent medical, dental and other essential expenses (such as a good tax attorney) first. Any information and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Where possible, please cite references, regulations, IRS publications, etc. so I can make sure I have my facts straight.

I have been married to her for 3 years now, She has 3 kids, 18,13,10, not worked for about 15 years i believe. Am i being so wrong as to insist that she now gets a job? I was self employed a while back and so we got tax credits, when i started my new job earning okay money, the tax credits continued cos she 'forgot' to tell them.. Obviously its a year on now time to renew and I am not lying on no form. She uses the money to get the shopping each week as all my wages pays for the bills at end of month. So when the credits stop, and we start paying them back, we not going to have any money for shopping, so I am insisting that she goes back to work, but I am being unreasonable here? all i want is for her to go and do some bloody work! any ideas what she could do or if you think i am being unreasonable.???

I'm trying to save up so I could get me a guitar but my job isn't hacking it, because I have a lot of bills. I know it sounds dumb asking for ideas but I really want this guitar. My manager is letting me sell stuff at the store so that I can save up, but now the problem is that I don't know what to sell or what I could do. If you have an idea or you've done something similiar to what I want to do let me know.

Please

I know of a wholesaler that sales cute, trendy home goods. They have a huge supply and I know this stuff sells. TONS of people buy it and sell it but I dont have a store. Will people buy that sort of stuff on the internet? Not on an ebay store but an actual web site.
