cause they can see your account, balance, number of deposits, etc all in front of them.

pay attention to the comments from when you have cash to when you don't, they do change.

I have several accounts, 1 I keep at a bare minimum. When I deposit to that account, I get almost no response from the tellers. But if I deposit into my biz account, that has money, oh boy do I get the hello sir, how is your day, etc, etc.

Sad people judge others on cash or wealth alone.

It is part of what banks require of their employees these days. There is so much competition among banks that they think that if their tellers are very friendly and chatty, customers will stay with them.

They also tell their tellers to look at the names on the checks and deposit slips so they can call their customer by name. Like after you cash a check and you are leaving they say something like, "Thank you for stopping in Mrs. Smith!"
Even when you first show up and hand them a deposit slip, they will sneak a look at the name on it and say, "How are you today, Mrs. Smith?"

It is sometimes funny because sometimes I make a deposit for my friend when she can't get away from work. So they call me by her name.

Being pleasant to customers is an integral part of the training for their job. An unfriendly grumpy bank teller would not last long in the job

I've never went into a bank and encountered a "cheery" or "jokey" or "smiley" bank clerk. Maybe she was flirting with you? Or maybe you just got lucky and talked to a "friendly" bank clerk?

Usually they are moody b!tches and just want to go home so they can spend time with their cat and eat their ice cream! lol

Cheers

What do you want them to do? Scowl and act like they hate waiting on you?
