Since you are under 16 you probably will not get hired anywhere besides fast food assuming state laws let you work.
I know in Nebraska, During the school year 14 and 15 year olds are permited to work but they are not allowed to work more then 20 hours a week and can not work past 7. during the summer they are permited to work til 9 and not more then 40 hours a week.
There are also limits on what they can and can not due. For instance they are not supposed to be around steam tables or fryers and are not permited to use knives. A lot of this is because of child labor laws.
Also, I know that wal*mart here in town will not hire you til your 19 because of insurance reasons. Other states this does seem to be vary. I would assume target and maccas would be similar ( Im also assuming maccas is similar to target, I live in a town of 8000 and so all we have is a walmart and havnt heard of maccas to tell you the truth.)
Pay will depend on the business. I know where I work (taco Johns, fast food mexican resturant similar to taco bell only much better :) Everyone regardless of age starts at 6.15/hr.
I would probably say expect minimum wages and very few hours. You can only hire so many people under 16. I know we had 3 once and that felt like it was too many.

You don't need a work permit to work in Australia. If you are looking at fast food be aware that you may have to work some bad hours. If you can get work in a shop your hours will be much more reasonable. All my kids got jobs at 15. One worked at Maccas, 2 at Kmart and one at the Reject Shop. From our experience I would suggest you try a shop first. The employers know that 15 year olds would not have worked before and they allow for that. You will have to go for a casual job (which will not pay for holidays and sick leave) but you will get more money per hour as a casual. Good luck

I recommend AGLOCO!
It is the quickest way to earn money.
I recently joined AGLOCO because of a friend recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept.
AGLOCO’s story is simple:
Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf. How much of that money are you making? NONE!
AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.
AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube’s users did not get paid for!
AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.
AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they’re building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube made. But instead of that wealth making only a few people rich, the entire community will get its share.
What's the catch? No catch - no spyware, no pop-ups and no spam - membership and software are free and AGLOCO is 100% member owned. Privacy is a core value and AGLOCO never sells or rents member information.
So do both of us a favor: Sign up for AGLOCO right now! If you use this link to sign up, I automatically get credit for referring you and helping to build AGLOCO. http://www.agloco.com/r/BBFC6971
Thanks

You might have to be 16 for them to hire you, but you can call them and ask if what their age limits are.
If they hire a student, they know there are hours they can't work. Again, you'd have to ask them when you're hired what the hours requirements would be. Retail stores hire lots of part-time people.
Pay would probably be minimum wage to start or close to it. That's at least $5.15 an hour, and often more depending on what state you live in.

THE LAW STATES YOU HAVE TO BE PAID MINIMUM WAGE NOT MATTER WHAT YOUR AGE IS.
BUT FIRST YOU NEED TO CHECK TO SEE IF YOU NEED A WORK PERMIT WHICH ONLY ALLOWS YOU TO WORK CERTAIN HOURS DOING CERTAIN JOBS.
ALSO MANY COMPANIES WILL NOT HIRE ANYONE UNDER 16 OR 18 BECAUSE THEIR LIABILITY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER A MINOR.
START BY FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION WHERE YOU WANT TO WORK. IF YOU ARE TOO YOUNG THEY WILL TELL YOU.
EXPECT TO WORK WEEKENDS ETC. AND TO HAVE A SCHEDULE THAT CHAGES EVERY WEEK.
CHECK ON THAT WORK PERMIT, IM AFRAID THAT UNTIL YOU GET A LITTLE BIT OLDER YOU WILL BASICALLY HAVE TO TAKE WHAT YOU CAN FIND.
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH, I WISH YOU THE BEST AND YOU SOUND LIKE YOU WILL BE A VERY GOOD EMPLOYEE. JACKIE B

Getting a job at the post office is actually a complex affair, where you have to pass the civil service test, and then get on a waiting list, and then pass another postal test. Utterly not worth it for a part time job.
