work in your desired career field & make a nice salary or live forever off of SSI & Social Security (not much money but free money so you don't have to work)?

I got my college degree, & I'm receiving SSI & Social Security, but I want to work, & many people are suggesting that I NOT work. I want to be ABLE. I don't want to be DISabled & live off of a small monthly income. Also, people think it would be stupid of me to start working & lose my benefits, but SSI & Social Security are not enough for me to live off of. I get paid $730/month.

What would you do if you were in this predicament? I didn't waste 5 years of my college education for no reason, & plus, how am I gonna be expected to pay my loans back?

My husband isn't excited at the idea, but I am thinking of going back to school and re-focusing my life. I don't even know what I want to major in yet. I just know that I ma tired of working for a low wage and want to be able to do something I enjoy and feel challenged with. The ideas I love would mean 7 years of school.

It seems a pizza place in the Southwest accepts Pesos for pizza. They are on American soil, and pay American taxes, so why would they want to accept the less valuable Peso? And-can anyone tell me if there is a tax form to claim foreign currency taken in?

Hi!
Is it better to sell similar items as a group, or individually? I'm not sure which one of the items may or may not be more valuable so I thought I'd save listing fees and run them together.

On the other hand, would it be better to go individual?
Thanks!

My Husband and I filed Chapter 13. However, we have decided it is not a good move for us. So, we have our Creditor Meeting with the Trustee this week and want to know what will happen if we decide not to go through with this? Mainly, does this go on our credit report anyhow?

I give cash every week at church, and under charitable donations it ask for any cash amounts. I give the same amount every week and it isn't much, but in a year I give 3,840.00. It helps with my taxes, but my question is if it is legal for me to put in on my return. I don't have a reciept for it, I just pull the money out of the ATM and drop it in the basket. On the 1040 form, it doesn't say anything about it, it just asks how much you donated in cash. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

I want to open a special type of arcade and I don't know how to go about opening the business, like getting the small business loan or getting the credit or just where I should start?

I interviewed with 3 people for a job on Thursday and then was called back to meet with 3 more people on Friday. On Tuesday I'll be meeting with 1 remaining person.

Because of the short turn around time I'm planning to email a thank you note instead of snail mailing the note. I discussed this with the HR Rep and it was her who suggested sending an email instead of mailing letters.

Here's my question: should I email the thank you note to just the hiring manager or everyone on her team that I met with?

Ok, I've got a bit of a dilemma on!

I was recently dismissed from my job. I woul obviously claim that it was bloody unfair. Two sides to every story though...

Anyway, basically I worked in IT, and was responsible for the companies invoicing for the biggest contract the company had. (A major high-street bank)

Bacially they were fiddling the figures. (The total bill was roughly inflated by 30% each month. The directors and senior managment were aware of this) This would be extremly difficult for the bank to notice (and susequently prove) as we were using consolidated invoicing and were very careful about the backing data and MI that could be sent to people within the bank. This totaled into the millions over the 2 years I worked there.

What would you do and why?

My friend and I bought a house this year. Now I am stumped as to what to do for income tax time. Can both of us file for the house on our income taxes or just one of us? What about the improvements we have done such as a new kitchen and new bathrooms and baseboards etc. Can that be claimed on income taxes as well? Someone please help!!
