Not Iquite enough information to give you a good answer. It's very possible that you don't owe anything.

If you have other income that requires you to file, then you'd have to. If your total income is below a certain amount, then your social security isn't taxable and you might not have to file.

I'd suggest that you look for a TCE site near your home - there trained volunteers will look over your information and if you are required to file, will prepare your return at no charge. See https://locator.aarp.org/vmis/sites/tax_aide_locator.jsp and put in your zip code to find a site. You do NOT have to be an AARP member to use this service, and nobody will even ask whether you are. Some sites make appointments - there's a contact phone number on the website above, so you can call and ask.

Have you called the IRS? They are actually quite friendly and can advise you on whether or not you actually need to file and what benefits you can receive from filing! An income tax filing is occasionally necessary to prove hardship to the county to get relief from property taxes (in some states).

If your entire income is from Social Security benefits then you do not owe tax and are not required to file.

But fill out a 1040EZ-T and get a $40 rebate of the telephone excise tax. $40 cash is better than nothing. Just print it out from the link, fill it out and mail it in.

Sorry, No. Since you and your spouse's income isn't taxable, you won't have any tax liablity. Most credits are figured by using earned income or used to reduce your tax. You have neither.
If you need proof of hardship/income, just call your local SS office and they can provide income verification.
