i am currently looking for a job in the office industry. positions such as clerical, office assistant, receptionist, but i do not have experience in these areas. I cannot go directly to a Company and apply because what they need are the only experienced ones. So i went to 6 employment agencies(apple one, resource staff, office team, key-personnel, adecco, o'brien) because i thought they could help me get my dream career, ive gone through interviews, computer exams, and drug tests, BUT all they did was kept me hangin, like im wating for nothing. Everytime i call them for follow-up, they always tell me to just wait for their damn call. So, what do you think of them?

Ladies, as moms with children, how can we overcome the glass ceiling and still be there for our children when they need us?

It's a man's world out there, so how do we convince them we're there for the employer? Epsecially if the co-worker does not take time off from work and does a great job?

If you're familiar with those little comics from www.chick.com then you know what I'm looking for. I want to sell something and want to make pamphlets just like those, who can print them up for me? They would have to be able to take designs over the internet. A web based service would be great.

I'm getting tired of listening to people bi+ch at me at work. I'm in customer service. It pays really well and I'm in major debt so I need the money. But I'm so misreable going to work. Plus the hours are from 5-1am and it's starting to really drain me. Days aren't busy where I work and there's only one day shift in my department and it's taken by someone who's been there for 30 years so there's no way I can switch to day shifts. What should I do?

Upon inspection, 2 month-to-month tenants left house in bad shape and want their deposit back!

We did not charge for wear and tear, etc. only what the lease said--maintain yard, clean house professionally when you leave, remove trash, no unprofessional painting by tenants

Heres the damage:
8-10, 2 inch holes in sheetrock from tenant shelf, bad self-painting jobs in 2 rooms, deeply scratched hardwoods in 3 rooms, bags of trash outside (they cancelled trash service so it was $50 for the city to take it), a garage filled with their unwanted items, dead lawn and no mowing, extremely dirty bathrooms (we had the place professionally cleaned before their move-in), 2 doors damaged from pet scratching and other dog damage, white paint splatters on new deck, etc.
in addition, they painted 2 other rooms mid-lease and asked if we would repaint them when one roommate left (we did as a courtesy).
Now they want their dep. back, even though we gave back 1/3 of it-too much! I have pics. of ALL

It's just a minor position as an office busy bee. Data entry, filing, answering phones, and such. I've had three jobs, but they were years ago and I didn't have to interview for them. But like I said, I haven't worked in awhile and my resume is far from being top-notched. So although i'm pretty enthused about tomorrow, I am also pretty nervous. I have a nice pair of slacks and a buttondown shirt laid out, and I am ready with my big smille and firm handshakes. I guess they'll ask me to talk about myself and my good/bad qualities.

What else can I expect and what are good things to say?

Person A is always there and is always available to get the deadlines completed, but is a single male that never takes time off from work.

Person B has small children, is a great worker when at work, but several times a year will leave to take care of emergencies at home such as a sick child.

In this scenario, A promotion is coming up, which person will get the promotion?

(Just so you know, I believe that gender should not be a factor, but this is one of the reasons why men get further in the corporate ladder than women - by the way, I'm female).

As women, how do we overcome the glass ceiling when we are the ones to always take care of the sick kids? How can we compete against a single person in the quest for the upper rungs of the corporate ladder?

I'm trying to find a health insurance plan made for someone like me- 26, male, non-smoker,non-drinker, currently at ideal weight, regularly exercises, no health conditions, no prescriptions, etc. I mostly want something that'll cover check-ups with maybe a small co-pay, and then has a high deductable for a broken bone/ sports injury etc. Everything available at my job seems to cater to the chronically ill/ older/ heavy prescription user. private plans are to much per month. This is why I decline medical benefits, year after year! I know any of these plans would be helpful in the case of serious injury- just in case. But none seems to offer any tangible benefits like, I don't know, 2 doctor visits a year? Every plan requires that I exhaust my deductable first- I'll never spend 250-1000 a year for doctors visits!

I'm guessing, based on cost that a high deductable plan is best for my broken bone scenario- but how can then screw me out of seeing a doctor just to get a check up?

I have just been offered full time employment in an advertising agency, as an entry level media planning and production assistant. They have asked me how much I would expect to get paid and I have no idea. It is in Newcastle, not Sydney.
