It's just a minor position as an office busy bee. Data entry, filing, answering phones, and such. I've had three jobs, but they were years ago and I didn't have to interview for them. But like I said, I haven't worked in awhile and my resume is far from being top-notched. So although i'm pretty enthused about tomorrow, I am also pretty nervous. I have a nice pair of slacks and a buttondown shirt laid out, and I am ready with my big smille and firm handshakes. I guess they'll ask me to talk about myself and my good/bad qualities.

What else can I expect and what are good things to say?

First of all, good for you for trying to be prepared.

When you are asked a question, I want you to consider these facts (I've conducted about 500 job interviews when I was the HR professional hiring people).
1) When you answer, always think of it in terms of how can I show the employer what I can do for them.
2) Don't be surprised about a question. Often an unusual question is designed to see how you would react to a situation, and also to see how you think through an answer. So sometimes it's not as important what you answer so much as HOW you answer the question.
3) Relax and think about your answers before responding. That doesn't mean to take 5 minutes to think about your response, but do stop and think before answering.
4) The interviewer is looking for the person who will be the best fit for the position, so always be positive.
5) The best candidates for a position are the people with high self-efficacy. That means a person who can demonstrate that they will be fully effective on a job. Remember that being effective and being experienced are two very different things. You want to demonstrate to them a "can do" attitude. So look at any scenario they present from the perspective of "how can I use this question to show that I can get the job done for you?" More than once a person who shows they are willing to go that extra step to do a great job is hired over a person with lots of experience.

So, good luck to you and go get them!

Finally, if my advice works for you, please send me a response on my e-mail by clicking on the icon. I'd love to hear how your job interview goes.

My goal is to work with people who have barriers for employment and I am rooting for you to succeed!

Finally, stay positive no matter what happens and remember that you are on the interview from the time you pull your car into the parking lot until you leave the parking lot. So be nice to the receptionist and the janitor as well.

Expect the following classic job interview questions:

1. Why do you want this job?
2. Why do you want to work in this company?
3. Why should we hire you?
4. What makes you the best candidate for the post? What makes you different from the other applicants?
5. How do you see yourself 5 years from now? 10 years from now?
6. How will you spend your 1st pay from this company?
7. How long do you intend to stay in this company?
8. Do you have any role models in life? Name them, if any.
9. How do you find our company? Can you suggest what can we do to improve our work here?
10. What do you expect from the job and the company?
11. What was your last job? Why did you leave your last employment?
12. Name 3 accomplishments you are most proud of.

Advice: Relax. Practice. Stay positive. Wear your best attire. Look good and feel good. Good luck!

Dont wear any earrings, wear one small chain if you like , a watch is nice, a tie is great also, good shoes dress ones, no tennies, clean shaven well groomed person is one of the best representations for most companies. Eye contact, straight answers no guessing. Up front and to the point. Have a great attitude. Come in knowing that you have the job and make it to were they need you. Be honest on things that you are not stronge in and want to learn more about the company and become one of their strongest atrabutes to make them grow bigger and stronger. Tell them that you want to not just help them grow but to grow in the company as well. If you have any bad qualities make them as minor as possible but have a back up explination that is possitive to counter act them companies will see through some of the bad things at times. but always be willing to learn, grow, and expand your knowledge for and with that company and you should get the job. Make sure your answers are consistent. They will most likely as you the same question 2 or 3 times in a different way to see if you are lying or not. Be confident that you already have the job, smile and make sure you make eye contact with everyone that is interviewing you. (but not so much that you are staring.) Kmart was my first job. I just remember walking in confident and that worked for me.

Tell them you are the right candidate and can get the job done. Talk about the positive things and try not to talk too much or brag. Relax, look at the person in the eye with a smile and be yourself. Good luck and you will get the job.
