I want to copyright a logo and a name for a brand that I want to start. How would I go about this? Also is there any cheap ways to do it?

Hi, I'm in the UK and have a trading account with an online brokerage to trade in the US. I did a trade and the brokerage automatically deduced 30% of the value and passed it on to the IRS in the USA. I should'nt be taxed as I am not a US resident or citizen. I clarified this with the brokerage and passed on to them a W8 BEN form to register my status. They told me if I wanted to claim back the amount, they could'nt do it, and that I would have to claim it from the IRS instead. How do I claim from the IRS? Can someone tell me how to go about doing this? Any help will be deeply appreciated !!!

my boss recently partnered up and our office moved into the partners one. (law firm) the problem is that the partner smokes in the office, it is so gross, i have talked to my original boss and the partner about how unprofessional and disgusting it is but he still does it, i posted no smoking signs and no luck. i dont want to have to leave my job, but i plan on trying for another child within the next year and i am concerned. my hours are very flexible there and i would hate to start new. any advice to stop this guy?

I just finished college last month, and Enterprise invited me to be a management trainee. I hear of a Lot of people going there after college. Does anyone know anyone who may have worked there? We are paying rent for 1800 a month for the last 5 years and we feel that we are really wasting our money . We have been offered a 300-350K for a mortgage on a fixed interest of 6.5%. Our dilema is that how much will we get back after 10 years if we bought a 300K house and sell it in 10 years time. We need the cash then to start life in another country where cost of living is lower. What will actually happen if we can only sell the house at the price we pay for it when we buy the house. This is a question I'm trying to answer for my dad: careers he can explore pass the age of 50 without a college degree. He has a high school diploma and up to this point, he has held a steady job with a newspaper company but he needs to find work elsewhere very soon. What are some options he has? He brought up the idea of becoming a limo driver. He also wants to stay away (preferably) from office work since he's been involved with that type of work for a number of years.

The job has to support a middle-class family. Are there any websites online where I can look for free information to answering this question? How about any recommended books/guides you know of? Please help me in anyway possible. It would be a great deed for me and my family. Thank you to all who reply!

If not, how do I deal with these people 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? By noon I want to scream!! I like what I do, just not with these people. Don't get me wrong, it's not everyone, just a vast majority. I feel that I have to babysit all day long. My boss is just as bad as them, if not worse. I call him the ring leader. The bad thing is, the trade that I'm in, it's hard to find another position, so I can't just up a leave, I need to deal. I've tried talking to other management and it goes nowhere....I even talked to the owner...nothing. Any advise?

I'm a trailer kind of guy, double wide, I ain't poor. I bought my last one for 28 thou. My wife and girlfriend want me to get a house. But they cost a lot. So I'm wondering, what do I need the dirt for? Maybe the first foot or so, but why do I have to pay for more than that. I only need the top part to park my truck and for a trash pile. If I promise not to bury any thing out there deeper than a foot or so, can I save some money?

I don't even know what he spends on, but we never have enough money to pay bills and save some too, it's one or the other. I have tried talking to him, but he is convinced that I am nagging and that he only buys necessities. We opened up an Art & Antiques Gallery several months ago (first time business owners - new strip mall)...business has been slow...winter was off season for Florida - and season has not kicked in yet! I posted a question previously saying that I was looking for something genuine to work from home. And one of the answers directed me to this link:

Has anybody had any experience that would be able to tell me it is a real (except the person who posted it to my question) and not another scam? It asks for $49.95 upfront though it claims it has 60 days money back guarentee. But how can I trust them to refund the money when I don't know who they are? If it is a scam the link might not even work tomorrow.

I really hope that it is a real opportunity but I have been burned so many times, I think this time I would like to listen to more opinions before doing something stupid and ended up losing my money again. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

I am a graduate student with a steady income, have one credit card (3 + years) with a $1500 limit that I pay completely, on-time, every month. I had a major error on my credit report that was finally resolved last month (my file had been fused with someone elses), but now I finally have a "good" credit score and a moderately lengthy credit history. So, why can't I get a second credit card or even an increase in the credit line of my current card? Any advice?

I have this lady who always tries to make small talk with me...the problem is she is not very good at it. Every day, as I head out to lunch, she will ask the same stupid questions, "where are you going for lunch...what are you going to eat for lunch." Then, on my way back, when she sees me, guess what she asks: "Where did you go for lunch? What did you have to eat?" Why do people feel like they have to make small talk with you, even if they have nothing to say. This is so annoying.
