Unless there are external time constraints, like preparing shipments for an airline that has to depart on time, I'd say halfway through the shift, plus or minus an hour. So the meal time for a 3 to 11 shift would start somewhere between 6 and 8.

It would depend on the duration of the lunch, likely. Most places would probably start an hour lunch at 6:30 and end at 7:30. For a half hour lunch, they would likely start at 6:45 and end at 7:45. Of course, they might do something totally different or just start at 7 and end at 7:30 or 8.

The law provides for a 20 minute paid break during an 8 hour work schedule. Usually this will happen around mid-shift.

historically most employers have lunch half way but the job may dictate otherwise....assuming the job has no unusual characteristic related to schedule...cut the time in half.
