Tattoos - November 2006

I'm looking into getting my first tattoo soon. I'm kind of looking for an image that fits the text "Don't want the dreams you try to sell" from "Suck" by NIN because I'm getting that tattooed below the picture. I have vague ideas, but nothing really solid right now. Let's see what you guys can come up with.

This is mostly out of curiosity. I'm an ecology and evolutionary biology major, so that means I'm going to end up with some career in the sciences (as opposed to say, working in a record store or tattoo parlor). Lately I've been thinking about getting a simple black and white tattoo done about 1/4th of the way down my upper arm. It's a design that means a lot to me (so I'm going to wait a few months and see if I still want it) and I really really like it and the idea of getting it tattooed, but I'm curious as to the possibility of it jeopardizing a future career. I don't want to put it anywhere else, and if you're going to write something dumb along the lines of "lolz don't get it," go waste your time somewhere else.

So my questions are: if you have a tattoo, where is it, what is it, how big is it, what do you do for a living, and do you regret it?

Any words of advice for me as I plan to get my foot done after the holidays? I am in the process of designing my tat and originally wanted it on my toe (like a toe ring) but there will be way to much detail for that small of area so my foot it is.

I'm just looking for thoughts from people with a tat on their foot. Thanks.

I have a portbirth mark on my the top part of my arm about the size of a 50p. I,ve always hated it and its annoying as i'm always having to cover up.Can you have a tattoo over a birth mark with the skin being weaker? And would it cover it up?

i have a lower back tattoo i love it its dolphins so it symbolises freedom. i don't think it makes me a tramp. My lower back is hidden a lot of the time and my boyfriend is the only one who sees it. i don't use it to attract men it there as a symbol of freedom and i can't understand why all girls with them are tarred with the same brush. (i'm from yorkshire if you don't understand that terminology it means thought of as the same)

This will be my first tattoo, but I already have plans drawn out for a couple of other ones I want to get too. It's going to be a hand making a peace sign on the back of my right shoulder. It'll probably be about 7 or 8 inches long and about 4 inches across. I want it to just be black and grey, and to look kind of like a charcoal drawing. I would like to get a tattoo for my newborn son. I really don't want flowers because obviously he is a boy. I have looked around and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could get. I want something but I'm not really creative, It's just really hard to be female and have something tattooed for a boy... I also really don't want like a car or something else like that.
