i have a tattoo of a skull on the top of my right foot. it is a memorial tattoo for my coach that was murdered when i was in high school and a friend that died in a car wreck.
i also have a tattoo of a koi fish and lotus flowers on my back (my profile picture) and am working on finishing my back out with a sea turtle and some more lotus. this tattoo is to cover some not so well thought tattoos i got when i was younger. i have now realized the importance of picking tattoos that are artful and beautiful, and a little fun.
in a couple of weeks i will be getting a tattoo of a chinese takeout box on the top of my other foot to represent family. (i'm asian)

I have 15 tattoos.
None of them represent an event in my life, or anything along those lines, simply because I haven't had anything happen in my lifetime that I feel the need to remember by having it permanently put on my body. Perhaps someday I will, but not at the moment.
I have my tattoos because I find them visually appealing and they make me happy.

Hm, well, I get all of my tattoos for me, and deep reasons, but I can't go too deep, It would require a lot of typing, so here's them in a nutshell(only elaborating a few):
I have a "Love Never Fails" chestpiece. It is love-themed and also in honor and loving memory of my mother in Law. I got the Robins because her name was Robin, and then I have this whole elaborate symbolism on the whole thng. All of the images, the placements, the colors all have to do with the love in my life, how it has never let me down, love of God, my family, my husband, and friends. I would not be here today if I lost the love that have helped me throught my life. This tattoo is big and bright, and very meaningful. It is award winning, and my favorite, and will be the center of my theme of tattoos on my body.
My sleeve(incompleted) is for my love of Tim Burton, Nightmare Before Christmas, and mostly Halloween! I grew up with a lot of monster movies, NMBC, and Halloween-ness in my life, and those are very fond memories I wanted to always be reminded of...It's of the nightmare before christmas stuff, so this symbolizes more of my childhood, and the innocence I left behind when I had to grow up....etc..
I also have random Tattoos on my body that are incomplete, and Halloween/Horror themed. I have an immense love for halloween, and all things horror, but they also express me, and symbolize my unique ways and personality, my individuality.
I love tattoos, and what they do for me, what they help me though...they're amazing...and I love them. I don't get them for you to like them or dislike them...simply for me! :-) Only God can judge me, so I wish the rest of you would stop being hypocritical and leave me alone. You'll recieve your judgement aswell....tattooed or not.

I have a hummingbird on my right inner wrist. It has a tail that is longer than usual, that wraps around my outer wrist. I designed it myself. I has no particular meaning. I just always thought that they are amazing creatures. And it's an unusual place to have a tattoo...unique.

I have a tat on my left shoulder of two entwined Celtic trinity knots, one surrounding the other. The outer one represents the Sacred Trinities (maid-mother-crone, father-son-spirit, earth-sun-moon, etc), the inner is for my husband, myself, and what we create together. It is black with indigo shading, and I hope to have it embellished with scrollwork in a few more years, when I decide how to do it...

An Ankh on my Shoulderblade. It reminds me of life and its funny way of continuing, regardless of what happens and how bad it seems, tomorrow will come, and tomorrow is always better.
A Shenu on my back. It is an Egyptian Symbol of protection, and I like to think that it being there protects me, and keeps me from harm. One day, if I was ever to have a child, I'd like to have their name tattooed into it, to protect them.
An eye of Horus on my hip. It represents balance and clarity, and when I feel clouded, lost, irreversibly stunted, I look to it to bring me clarity and hope. I love all that it represents.
They're all Ancient Egyptian because I've always had a natural affinity with that period in time. It screams to me.

I have a tattoo on the upper right shoulder blade on m back. It's a crap with my birth date in the middle of it. I got it because it shows what sign I am(I'm into horoscopes) and also because it symbolized me coming into adult hood.

I have 3 so far. A mouse on my chest, a unicorn on my shoulder blade, and a celtic knot heart on my ankle.
The heart is for love, the unicorn is purity and fantasy, the mouse is for ... I don't know, I just like them. They're cute! LOL
